  1. maybe the issue is in the pipe leading up to the head
  2. actually that chart is from intervals.icu,
  3. yep, everyone has their preference, I know for me, by the time the afternoon has rolled up I've thought of a million excuses and I've gotten stuck into doing something else.
  4. I've tried to do as much as I can to be as silent and unobtrusive as possible, I dont even turn on any lights, my cellphone torch is switched on in the bathroom and I get dressed by the glow of light coming from there.
  5. dont get me wrong, I prefer early morning rides, but instead of riding 6 days a week I'll cut it back to maybe 4 or 5. But maybe now that warmer weather is here I'll change my mind about it
  6. yeah I've already sort of decided that after March next year I'm going to slow it down a tad, maybe do longer rides on the weekend to make up for it, but the 4am wake ups every day take their toll, on me and the wife, as she tends to wake up when i do and then struggles to get back to sleep.
  7. Its the difference between knowing the topic, and really understanding the topic well enough to break it down into simple terms. One day when I'm bored I need to search and see if anyone has uploaded his stuff onto youtube. I'm sure it will help my kids too
  8. I guess he really did not enjoy it then. Good ad, something different.
  9. Also used to attend the classes in Germiston with him, his stories and jokes helped me remember many of the answers whilst writing exams.
  10. thats why we love the "august" and blitz through there like we're World Tour champions (Until we hit the climbs) , altitude training all year round, and then clean fresh oxygen rich air for the fun ride world champs
  11. To the most distance on a bike in a year since I started keeping record. On track to reach my goal for both distance and elevation in a year. I've only made the graph go back to 2017, anything further back is irrelevant
  12. ja, doesnt work well for me, especially when temps get hot and the gel gets more runny I like 32gi products, but that fold things and me never got along
  13. even with 32gi's "unique" opening method (on the standard gels), it always makes a mess for me, thats why I stopped using them. The G-Shots are awesome though.
  14. Also looks like a nice option, thanks
  15. This looks like a nice option. Just struggling to find the nutritional info. Strange for a nutrition brand.
  16. There is a probably a topic covering this already, but I'm to lazy to search. I'm currently using a mix of Farbar and GT Gel by Pace & Power. What I like about GT Gel is that it gets decanted into a small sippy bottle which enables me to take small sips during the ride without having to open and finish a sachet. Its mostly mess free unlike sachets that some how always squirt when you open them and leave a stickiness in your pockets when you put the empty sachet back. But GT Gel is not the most convenient product to get hold of, AFAIK there is only one shop and that is in Sunninghill, online shopping is available but unless you're buying a bunch of other things its a bit costly just for gel. So after that long winded explanation, what I'm looking for is an alternative energy gel, something that does not come in a sachet and doesnt need me to take out a personal loan to buy.
  17. My wife loves "window shopping" on property sites. Likes to send me links to property. I keep telling her, "whats the point, we cant afford it" . But she seems to love it.
  18. you must have taken Seth with you to buy it then, he fits the mould
  19. its a gravel bike, does weight really matter ? Your average gravel biker will be adding 23 storage bags, be wearing a flannel shirt flapping in the wind and be stopping to pick up some conditioner for his beard and man bun before heading to the local coffee shop.
  20. lol, I once told a couple pulling out of a church infront of me and then still swore at me, to turn around, go back inside and repent. They were not amused.
  21. I dont know. This was just a small area at the back, right after where the chamois ends, I did not do the analysis to work out what was exposed. Only noticed it because its the first time I've personally hung the bibs up in sunlight, normally they get washed in the shower and hung over the shower door rail to dry.
  22. So it finally happened. Just short of 4 years of near daily use and the dreaded see through crack has appeared. Discovered as I was hanging them on the line on sunday. Luckily I've been doing most of my riding in the dark the last few months, my apologies to anyone that has been scarred by my indecent exposure. The chamois, whilst still intact, was looking a feeling a little compressed, the silicone dots on the legs came off right in the beginning, but I never had a problem with the legs turning up or moving. Over all they were a great pair of bibs. I'll have to create a bibs savings pot to build up some funds and get the new Mirage 2 at some stage, for now the cheapo Wattz bibs will have to do duty.
  23. School drop offs are a display of the worst selfish driving behavior ever to exist anywhere.
  24. the traffic, anytime of day or night in both those areas is enough to make one drive like a boet
