My standard morning loop around the airport. Very little sleep last night, heat/stress/life so not much energy this morning. Kept the effort low and just enjoyed being out.

yeah look the running out has happened many times, but we can usually tell its just us as there is a Telkom building diagonally behind us and their big a$$ diesel gennie kicks in when the power goes down. But last night we did not even bother to check if anyone else was down, we just assumed.

Bit of a load shedding lol. We were scheduled to go off at 20:00 last night. I got back from a meeting at the daughters school at about 19:30, changed and decided to make some coffee so we could settle down infront of the TV. 19:53 the lights go out, just as I finish stirring my coffee. Cue some swearing, then decided stuff it, I need some chill time so we will watch 1 episode of a show using the inverter. about 15 minutes later the neighbour messages us to check if everything is ok as our house is totally dark. That when we realised its not load shedding, we had run out of electricity.

Thanks for that, I'm going to assume they'll do something similar for if you buy at the expo. I'm going to have to see how much money I can scrounge together for this trip, but I doubt they'll be changing the jerseys every year so might only land up buying next year.

I wonder if they will stop just anyone buying this kit or will they check to see if you've done x amount ? Trying to decide if I should buy a 10, for keep sake until I qualify for a 21 in a few years time. that way as I work my way through the numbers I can have a complete collection.

Sorry man. The weekend got away from me. I know exactly where it is, its just a matter of pulling it out and taking some pics. I've put a reminder on my phone for this weekend.

sure I get that, I'm in the motor industry, I know what people do. But, the question still remains, are they using some secret formula for their mineral oil, or is it just mineral oil with a colour dye added and a huge markup to boost revenue.

A note on "junk miles". They are not always completely junk. Doing junk miles has taken me from not being able to crack sub 4hour CTCT to being on the verge of cracking sub 3. Yes some structured training would probably have me sub 3 in a shorter time frame, but the junk miles allowed me to still achieve the other benefits I get from cycling, inner peace, time to my self to just think, weight loss, freedom to just ride, FUN ..... etc. So they are not always a bad thing even though they may not be the most efficient method of training.

Was going to be a 80km, but got to my folks place and my dad had his bike out, so went for a 10km with him.

Yes but compared to the others on here it ain’t greats. to be fair to myself though, up until lockdown I was almost strictly just a weekend warrior.

That, plus what my parents have taken to doing is asking for wheel chair assist. That way you cruise through all the queues etc.

So eskom had a massive 18.something % increase approved yesterday by NERSA. Watch LS drop to almost nothing now. The pattern is always the same, huge increase in load shedding leading up to NERSA making a decision
