  1. according to my results on the portal, they had just over 9000 finisher for last years full distance,
  2. thats drastically down. I wonder how many choose to do the shorter route rather and how many are just not doing it
  3. 1998 was my first one, results are on racetec still as of this morning.
  4. you say its on racetec ? I've just checked and I can still get into racetec
  5. I think if you have some sort of proof then you can go to them to have it rectified. I've got 1 race missing from my tally (they have me as doing my 20th on sunday where I have it as my 21st), I've got the pics from the missing race, but I could never be bothered gathering all the info and getting it sorted.
  6. my boss found me lying down under my desk, he didnt understand, now I'm fired.
  7. this thread is enough for me to cancel any plans of coming down there in March. Frightening
  8. I think each fitter has their own theories and experiences, you can probably got to 3 different fitters and get 3 different fits.
  9. It was Richard that got me to make the changes similar situation, I really should be on a smaller frame than what I have.
  10. I think it is as what was said above, depends on teh bike geometry. I went from 110mm to 80mm stem and at the same time went from 440mm to 420mm bars on my road bike I cant say I feel the twitchiness you describe.
  11. I pronounce it the same as you, used in the same context. I'm going to Vye cycling.
  12. has anyone got the split time calculator ? I know there was one last year, but searching just doesnt seem to find it for me.
  13. Glad you're sorted. The water proofing is my biggest concern. I have yet to test mine in a heavy downpour, so far there is no indication that light showers and sweat have gotten into mine.
  14. I got up, heard the lite drizzle when I was putting on my kit. Light drizzle I can handle, went out to get the bike and saw the dark clouds filled with lightning coming from your side of the world. I knew what was headed my way. Put the bike back and climbed straight back into bed.
  15. oops, also did not read properly
  16. Long term prediction.
  17. its better than yesterdays forecast, lets see how it changes as the days go by. traditionally its a rainy week leading up to the race.
  18. guys please tread carefully with the politcal talk, we dont want one of the better non cycling threads to be removed too
  19. I'll wait for Epic Ride weather to be able to forecast for the day (currently its to far into the future for a forecast from ER) i just hope the wind that we've been having lately stays away on the day.
  20. This is what scares me as the pace heats up. At my age I have no appetite for tumbles, my body no longer heals quickly. We had a similar incident on our group ride saturday morning. +/- 45km/h, I hear wheels locking up ahead, next thing there is a bike in the air and bodies hitting the deck. I think if I did not have a little breathing room between me and the guy infront of my I would also have gone down. the guy front right of me was the last guy to hit the deck, and he clipped my leg on his way down, fortunately I was headed off the tar to the left already so as to avoid the bike sliding on the tar directly infront of me.
  21. I know personally, I only joined the PPA back in 1999 because it gave me a better start time for my first Argus, I remained a member for about 5 years after that, but soon realised that up in Joburg they have no presence, I was getting nothing out of being a member. So I stopped renewing.
  22. and the fact that you can link an Excel spreadsheet to intervals.icu opens up a world of possibilities for custom graphs and tracking.
