  1. Actually, if you read through your car's user manual- you'll see that there is a certain tyre pressure for loaded, and unloaded car. Mine is: 2bar for unloaded 2.2bar for loaded Kinda makes sense then increasing your pressure when more weight is applied- and if you take into consideration that the contact surface of a mtb's tyre is much smaller than a car's. I'm 88kgs, tubes, 2bar front, 2.3 back. anything less looks like i'm running with slow punctures
  2. Well, i do spend a lot of time on the ground- but that doesn't mean i fell
  3. ooooh me see! thanks Jaco and berry!
  4. Sorry for my ignorance- but how is it possible that it does not change? if you 'sag' your bum is closer to the ground- and the BB is fixed at a certain distance to the ground. I know the back triangle moves slightly 'backwards' when dipping- but is that enough to compensate for ALL the downward travel? just asking
  5. ooooh, someone is bitter... Did a MTBer steal your girl?
  6. Think they'll come at us with razor blades hidden in their compression socks?
  7. it's about time for that cuppa
  8. Not to be an elitist or anything- but to diss us, you wil have to get the lingo right: Camelbak (brand name hydration pack) Have you ever ridden through standing water? (and i'm talking green/purplish water/mud that's too nasty for even the sun to bother) As the knobbies are a little thicker than normal roadie tyres, they tend to pick up this mud and gooi it onto your "water bottle that you cannot use". Now i don't want you to get the idea that i'm not hardcore (i use Red Heart as mix with my Brannas) but to taste that water/mud... eish my friends, she's not pretty! Hope that clears up some confusion!
  9. Old news? Where do i find such technologically advanced super hardware?
  10. what do you expect? dis mos die MOEDERstad- als vat 9 maande om te gebeur

  12. ooooh i see! never knew the Monnas had their own park, did the race there- though it was only for the one event. Will have to pop in there next time!
  13. +1 for the T-shirt option!
  14. Did a race there way back in 2008, the park was in mint condition! went again about 2 months ago- was shocked to see the condition of the place. Most of the trails were overgrown because no-one rides them. Even so- had a blast in the mud, great switch backs all over, North Shore has 2 HUUGGGEEE drops Zombie Birdhouse is still the same as before- fast and furious! Waterworx is lotsa fun close to the dam and the list goes on... Advice- go in a group of about 4, just to be safe- as i mentioned, they do have security at the gate and fencing all round! Lotsa fun!
  15. Can you still access the Monument from Groenies? We used to ride under the storm bridge through Fountains to get to the Monument- but in recent years the gautrain development blocked the entrance...Is there another way? 1. Groenies 2. Van Gaalen = awesome ride! 3. Teak Place - Humber hill! Ja pappie! 4. Kingskloof was lekker fun - made part of the Silverstar race, mo3rse rocky! 5. Logwood has indeed reopened, all single track and lotsa fun- dodgy area though between the squaters, but they have security at the gate (as if it counts for something these days)
  16. Sad to see "another hijacking" every start of the week. This is really getting out of hand! "Glad he's okay" is not acceptable anymore- rather "sorry he didn't castrate them"
  17. Really- LAST of the 35k in 3hours? im no sprinter- but should do it in 2hours then. This is my 1st Lion man- so thought id take the 35k, to my regret now
  18. I do it the other way around (well, i don't use energy drinks to keep my head cool) I find it a mission to clean out energy drinks from the bladder. Any special techniques?
  19. if a 'brak' bleeds, you must take him to the vet Dis ongelukkig hoe ver my kennis strek Dankie, ek luister ook verder op die radio...
