  1. The ones I had were bullet proof. That was quite a few years ago though, not sure what the new ones are like.
  2. You're right, it looks like its more of a "Partnership", with the existing management staying in place. This is from Bridgepoint's website: http://www.bridgepoint.eu/about-us/news-views/international-online-bicycle-sportswear-and-accessories-retailer-wiggle
  3. A company called Bridgepoint. Here's the article: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/de1d02dc-20d6-11e1-816d-00144feabdc0.html
  4. Thats some serious cash, so you can imagine what their turnover must be to value them so highly. Its no wonder that LBS's are taking strain.
  5. City Cycles, thats your problem right there. They have no clue, so unless you're buying a tricycle for your kids, go shop somewhere else.
  6. Those are very cool marketing videos, but carbon definitely breaks and when it does so its quite dramatic. Aluminium isn't perfect either. My alu Cinelli has such thin tubes that it dents with the press of a finger. Whether we like it or not, carbon is here to stay, and with the cookie cutter moulding going on its becoming cheaper and cheaper to build as well. The main thing against carbon is its carbon footprint, if you excuse the pun. Steel frames can be bent back into shape and welded and can last many years. Once they rust to pieces they can probably be melted down and recycled further. I dont believe their is much use for old and broken carbon.
  7. Nice to know they are still going strong. I got my first cycling kit from them way back in 1987, then in 89 got a Petini frame which was their own bike brand. You could say that Jonene knows a thing or two about the industry.
  8. So, when he jumped the lights did you almost hit him, or were you also stopped at the lights?
  9. Nah, they too busy buying their sons deca to waste there cash on this. At least they know for a fact that deca works.
  10. Salvo is building BMX bikes in steel.
  11. I like Fizik Microtex for my bikes, easy to clean, looks good and is pretty tough. I also have Bontrager Grippy Tape on one bike, has a really nice feel to it.
  12. You have awesome taste pink dude.
  13. Raw aluminium will fade over time, so if you want to keep it shined up then you will need to polish it every now and then. If a "raw" Aluminium frame doesn't lose its shine after 5 years then its most likely silver anodized.
  14. Contact City Cycling Club, they are based in Edgemead and have regular group rides catering for all levels of fitness. Their website is www.citycyclingclub.org.
  15. How dare you insult Campag in this manner!
  16. Apparently there are a couple of appeals with some results. Cant understand how some teams can cheat by feeding from the car. Rules apply to everyone and those teams that had to stop to feed are pretty screwed as a result.
  17. That article has had a similar reaction on other forums that I frequent. A company can spend millions on advertising a year, yet the power of an article like that is probably worth more than their whole annual marketing budget. I'm personally tired of the rampant greed that has led to everything we consume being manufactured in China only because they pay their staff slave wages. I will happily support companies like Campagnolo, even if it means I can only afford their second or third tier groupsets.
  18. Buy a Ritchey seatpost, then buy the specially made saddle clamp for carbon rails. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/ritchey-seatpost-rail-clamp-carbon-rails
  19. LOL. Cyclocross is one of the more graceful forms of cycling.
  20. Awesome, but your reflection is getting in the way of the dial. Maybe take a pic with the light in front of you instead.
  21. The real reason is that Sram Red is just too light. They've gone and built a 600g frame and now they need to shove lead ballast down the seat tube to bring the bike up to 6.8kg's. Seriously, who needs lead ballast when you can run DI2.
  22. Thats a bummer. I'm sure I saw that bike on Gumtree recently, but that would be before it was stolen.
  23. You have excellent taste!

Is there a Colnago distributor in SA now, or did you import them yourself?
