  1. During the match is the best time to ride since all the obnoxious road hogs will be glued to the screens with their beers resting on their boeps.
  2. Nicely done. Those bars are perfect for squeezing through narrow gaps :-)
  3. Remember, on an indoor trainer you tend to sit pretty still for most of the time. Don't forget every now and then to stand up on the pedals to take some pressure of the backside and to give the muscles a bit of a stretch. Like others have mentioned, spend a bit of money and get a decent bike fit, you wont regret it.
  4. My steerer on a Large GT was cut to 21.5 cm with enough space for some spacers.
  5. That is really cool.
  6. Leave Boonen out of this.
  7. I'm sticking to the road, these mountain bikers are way too aggro.
  8. Always had awesome service from John, even from way back when at WE cycles.
  9. I had no problem seating my monorail LUST's on an XT rim with a crappy floor pump. No soapy water or anything. What I do is try and manipulate the beading to the side of the the rim and give it a couple of vigourous pumps. However, from the postings i have seen here and in other threads, the XT rim is particularly trouble free when it comes to seating UST tyres.
  10. Now that's how a modern retro should be done. If I was being totally anal i would say change the rear der to all silver.
  11. Clive de Sousa is a saffa living in the US. He is the agent for Scapin bikes and owner of Glory Cycles. The Scapin Fazer is hand made in Italy: Check out his review: http://glorycycles.blogspot.com/2011/09/scapin-fazer-review-shimano-di2.html And a pic:
  12. The Prince has a round seat tube, which is what the Chinarello mould is supposedly a copy of.
  13. Saw those too. I think those are the American Raleigh's though.
  14. Enough of the waffle and back to really important issues. Should I place my CRC order today or wait a couple of weeks to give the Rand a chance to rebound?
  15. The Rand is really ruining my CRC buying experience! The items in my wish list have gone up by a couple of hundred in the last couple of days.

I think he's a tad busy today trying to get the new shop ready before Saturday.
  17. So if you add all of that up its costing you R230 per month for swimming, biking and trail running at four different venues. Sounds like an absolute bargain to me. Ditto cptmayhem.
  18. DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!
  19. Have a look here: http://web.archive.org/web/20071010161540/http://www.raleigh.co.za/bikes.php?rangeid=4&bikeid=109&year=2006#range
  20. That is a 2006 model.
  21. You better off buying a tacx flow and spare wheel for half the price. That way you get to ride your road/mtb bike and get to train with power.
  22. Overseas they go for between R1500 and R2000, so if you include the local costs involved in ripping you a new one, i would say close to 4K.
  23. Nope, but I am guilty of replacing only my cables on occasion. My Campag housings are invincible
  24. +1. Awesome stem.
  25. Not sure, that old lady who got munched in Fish Hoek swam every day for 60 years before she got taken. Just ask yourself if you're feeling lucky on the day.
