  1. I guess the greatness of the coffee is about context. During Dakar this year Overdrive had this beauty out early at each stop. Mounted in a carry case with another on the other end and the cups and capsules in little drawers. You can see that it has done a few rally seasons! Heaven!
  2. I think that a lot of the moaning and bitching stems from not really understanding the heart rate vs time thing, and that the log for points favours a high rate. So don't record the bits that lower the average, like warm up and the stops for coffee etc. I think the Vitality rewards is a great thing and has certainly nudged me into exercising more regularily and it helps to make bailing on a session a bit harder. Which I suppose is the whole aim of the programme. So I get more exercise, free gym, cash back, free iwatch, and free drinks. Cool
  3. I run on the treadmill for 31 min and get 300 points per run so it is pretty easy to get to the max target. Remember that the points are time based on your heart rate, so start recording after warm up and stop before cool down. I find it pretty easy to meet the targets, just takes a bit of thought. And I am getting too many points for a 3 and a bit hour cradle ride of about 100km. I really don't see what the issue is with the targets and points. Just think and record and enjoy the benefits.
  4. Steve was a special one and leaves a big hole. I got this from Motorsport SA: Last week’s tragic passing of well-known motorsport journalist Steve Wicks has left his family, friends and the wider motorsport community reeling. It has also left those closest to Steve with unexpected expenses and added financial pressures at a very difficult time. MSA would therefore like to invite Steve’s many friends within the motorsport community to make a donation into the banking account of his partner, Catherine, in an effort to assist in alleviating some of these financial pressures. Catherine’s banking details are as follows: First National Bank Branch Code 251445 Account Number 50380026565 Account Holder : CM Cuthbert RIP Steve – Motorsport won’t be the same without you.
  5. As you should, having complied with the request for an alloy
  6. I have a 70k entry if anyone is looking for one. Crossing to the dark side for the Telkom Satellite. Gone to Mike!
  7. 3M make a very high strength double sided tape that is super thin and is probably a bit stronger than contact and will damp some of the vibrations as well
  8. Great way to really improve relations between bikers and drivers! I am sure that after creating a lot of frustration the response from drivers will be "OMG why didnt i think about that nice cyclist, thay are such nice people, please can i be just like them"

I came down really hard ten Kay in. Shoulder knee elbow and head dinged.. Fell in front of a tandem, really sorry for interrupting their race. Bike broken. Pity
  23. Someone once said that wisdom is knowing what you don't know. For the disbelievers in a proper fitting, think about how fidly we get in sorting out the seat position in our car. Then someone moves it one notch and we pick it up straight away!
  24. So Clint I am one of those newbie weekend warrior riders who wants to get fitter, lose a bit of fatass and have some fun. And I followed "normal" pattern of reading around and adjusting a but here and there. Then I paid a bit of money for a proper fitting done by Cycles in Motion in Morningside. They measured limbs, angles of flex etc and then made some small changes in saddle height and for aft distance. Yes it made a difference, even the 5mm up on my saddle. I feel less pain in my legs and back, and that alone was worth the 400 odd ronds and for me I will do it again when I get a new bike. I only ride for about six hours a week, but it is enough to feel changes in bike fit. I notice this on my legs and back when I swap between mtb and road bike. What I find amusing is that we spend 2 or 3 grand on shoes that we think are the dogs danglies but think that optimising the adjustments on the bike are a waste of money? But I suppose there are people who still believe in the Easter bunny, tooth fairy and father Christmas. Sometimes it is about the bike!
