  1. Those look nice, Para. You get em at Westdene?
  2. Campagnolo must be relieved this topic is just a joke.
  3. And I thought BigH was Angolan Come on guys, we need to show support for foreign hubbers, even if they do like Raleighs equipped with shi#mano
  4. If I was in the market for a ridiculously expensive pair of wheels, that would improve my performance by a near-negligible margin (which I'm not), then I would still take the LEWs over the Lightweights.
  5. He's looking pretty lean Perhaps a good ride round Africa will help lose the extra kilos i've picked up in the winter. Also, it's quite scary how little baggage he seems to be carrying. I've done a bit of bike touring myself, and I carried more than that for a little jaunt round Europe. Hate to think what you need for the African continent. You don't need to win the lotto to do something like this. I daresay it's within reach of most hubbers, judging by the large quantity of top-end carbon equipment I see being bought and sold in the classifieds each month.
  6. Thanks ShaunH, good idea, will put different pedals on and see if the noise persists. Pedals are brand new though, so I don't think it's the problem. Have you thought of a date for the soup kitchen? I was thinking it would be good to do it for foreigners who are sheltering in churches and police stations from our marauding xenophobic thugs. One of my colleagues was helping out at one of the police stations. I could ask him for more info if you like?
  7. My BB has started making an annoying click noise at a particular point in my pedal stroke. I have checked that the cranks do not touch anything when rotated, so it appears that the noise is being generated inside the BB. Anyone got any bright ideas as to what could be causing the problem? There doesn't seem to be any play in the cranks, either horizontal or vertical. It is a carbon Chorus Ultra Torque crankset.
  8. I think this bike might be my next bike, but I prefer the older model to the latest one.
  9. I've seen MX riders on the spruit. Never quad bikes though.
  10. Big Ben? That name rings a bell... Give it a bit of time and you might recall where you heard of him... Word on the street is that he has a towering intellect... ? I do Typical for you to chime in like that...

  12. BB, wouldn't a syringe do the job nicely? Not sure where to buy one though.
  13. that's what the review said. Easton prides itself on its wheelbuilding skills (as opposed to using fancy materials, etc).
  14. I think there is a review on this wheelset in a Ride mag some issues back. Anyway if I remember correctly they say it's the only "cheap" wheelset that is built by hand. You never hear anything bad about Easton wheels.
  15. There is an ad for LED downlights in the most recent edition of home magazine. LED Downlights 220 LED downlight 3,3W lasts 5 years 12V downlight MR 16 4W Lasts 5 years Doesn't give prices. 10 LED lights will use 0,03 units of electricity per hour. 10 Halogen lights will use 1 unit per hour - 33X more than LED. Fits into existing fittings; can be dimmed. Contact Richard on 083 753 7069 info@ledzshine.co.za Richard, I expect commission for this
  16. thanks

  18. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of accommodation listed on that website. Need to book. Anybody able to help plis?
  19. Oh, I forgot one thing: I supply the blindfold, you supply the bikes - and don't forget they need to be the same size
  20. I challenge anybody to tell the difference between the Raleigh, Felt and Merida carbon frames in a blindfolded test. All frames must be fitted with the same components, wheels, tyres and all must have equal tyre pressure. R1 000 says you won't tell the difference. Moral of the story: buy the bike that looks cool/offers a good guarantee/makes you feel special and most importantly, fits you.
  21. Dirt Rider, I thought you had a Dirt Rider bike
  22. Lolly's whole business model is based on the premise that he never actually sells the ****, just the thought of having it, or so he claims. By the same token, LBSes should tell customers that their boxes are sturdier, thicker and they are welcome to pay R100 to look, maybe cop a feel, but under no circumstances take it home. Now that sounds like a good way to make money out of cardboard!
  23. It's on the banned substances list, but I don't think you need to worry too much about that, DR
  24. looks like they used motorbike wheels for that thing. I'm guessing it weighs more than 50kg.
