    NESS 50 Tubbies

Thanks Luke, With the amount of responses it seems market penetration is not that great yet but that is why price is good. If I can have the same to say about the wheels in a years time it will be great.
  2. Hi i am interested in buying a set of the NESS 50 carbon Tubbies. Anybody that can tell me anything about them .
  3. Sorry my bad, do not know what I was thinking, but I know if you do this and use as base for your traing for Argus come Argus you should be able to do good time.
  4. There will be a Road race between Kimberley and Bloemfontein on 13 August. Who is up for the Challenge . Any of you from Gauteng, Cape that will come to take up the challenge. Should be around 165 km Will be nice to see how much interest there is in such a race" Capital to Capital"
  5. Agree, After a while it is not so bad when you sweat enough. However if not tight enough and you& bike vibrating it might give higher readings. Had same issue, all sorted after tightening strap.
  6. Hi , i found recently and again in Argus that my bike goes unstable at high speeds 60+. It is as if is getting a speed wobble , got it just before Wynberg hill, but not again. Anybody with similar experiences, I have checked but can not find anything wrong, felt like at started at the back.
  7. I was wondering how many people from Bloem are on the hub and doing Argus as there is plenty cyclist on the roads the last two months. What groups are you in. I am in K hoping for a mild wind and aiming for 03:15
  8. I am sure two weeks will not be the worst thing , sounds like you will be able to ride on Saturday, sunday again. How many hours have you done this past weekend? Sounds like a few guys in Bloem is in good form, I guess the fact that there is no races helps us train better.
  9. Have added you as training buddy if you approve.
  10. We can use fittrack for the purpose, you can log your training and invite buddies that we find in this threat.
  11. Option 4 then 1. The black is will be very hot but nice for winter.
  12. 84 kg after 3500 Calories burned on the bike this weekend, will need to increase time on bike this week.
  13. I have Ksyruim Elite , hav not done to much milage on them around 2500 km , very responsive but no issues so far. Must say I was looking at the Easton EA/EC90's . Think I will move over to CRC site now.
  14. Uses fittrack only for logging sessions while using my own program. I did sign up for advanced plan but must say I do not have enough time for it. Currently about 20 points behind. Will try to reduce that to 10. But I am aiming for 3:15 as I am only starting in K.
  15. I always take a slip as I use it but the Taxi's are usually first one that complain when petrol price goes up. For them petrol is running expense so they can claim more expenses if they have more slips. However you get a lot of guys that claim fraudulent km's on their vechiles for tax. If you did not lie on your tax form I would say you have the right to complain here.
  16. Hi, From what I see is you need to do intervals as suggested as to ensure you improve endurance as well as endurance power . My AVG heart rate is between 85-90% of MHR for a race and if you do not train at these levels you will not be able to race there for long. Intervals allow you to spend time in these zones while allowing you to recover inbetween and therefore spending more time at higher heart rate than you would without the rest in between. Look at training4cyclist.com somebody advised me to read it. Also you can get a training program from Maryks which is designed for you specifically.
  17. Will have a look at the site mentioned. Have used Maryks, training program. My seeding index for Argus 2010 was 1.32, last race was 1.15

    Tubes

Hi yes, The article regarding rolling resistance said you getting 10% less rolling resistance with Latex tubes not lighter tubes. But as previous mentioned if you ride reasonable pace your rolling resistance is less than 10% of your resistance so 10% will save you less than 1% resistance with most of your resistance being wind resistance.
  19. Cheapest is to join Free state Cycling R100(Includes your R75 CSA affiliation) Look on fscycling.co.za under clubs choose Free state south. You get the form there
  20. I must say it was nice with the motorcycle marshalls in front of us. The guys stopped any car that just looked like the may get in our way. Job very well done.
  21. I got 103.7km My brother got 49km for the 50 km race. I mailed the organisers last week to check if the distance will be longer but they ensured me that it is only 99km.
  22. I actually used L-Glutamin, or actually used untill end December, was training quite hard and people told me I am getting leaner but did not loose any weight. I enetered the weight loss challenge going on the hub and did nothing different except stopped the L-Glutamine, and has lostaround 4 kg in January.
  23. They were big in the early ninetees and I think a few boks wore them in the 1995 World Cup however the fact that they more or less went of the radar tells me it did not really give any benefit to the athletes. However you still get some people using it. There was a time a lot of guys wore the anti glare strip below their eyes as well. These days you only see Chandarpaul of the West Indies with it.
  24. Thanks will have a look and give it a try. I have been following a training programme and According to me I am reletavely fit but when I saw this I thought this might give you that little bit additional . But looks like as normal there is no magic in a can you just have to train/work harder.
  25. I assumed you had to be fairly fit for it to work at least . Maybe it will only work for the boys that is in PE currently.
