  1. I will look at Concept full carbon clinchers 50mm Aero profile . They run very well, They waigh the same as a set of Ksyruim Elites . I have been though potholes on two different occasions with mine and no problem. I weigh 85 kg , so weight no an issue. They also look quite nice.
  2. Mine was great, starting on time improved my time from last year so it went well. I think the guys that always complain about the goody bags should be happy with this event as well. Only issue is I am from Bloemfontein.
  3. The amashova do not have a expo? Come do OFM classic, You get an expo, not very big but an expo none the less, there is a goody bag as well. But the main thing is well organised safe event . You get a few hills , wind and a fast ride if you can hang on or of cause lead the group. Try the Free state next time. MTN still sponsoring the event as well.

    Bloemfontein OFM

Just to make it interesting the hill that you found at 5km will be at 85 km this year, a bit of changes in the route this year more cycling within the city and suburbs.
  5. Had nice race, Wind not quite as strong as last year but blew nevertheless. Reminder to myself - Put a 25 on the back if attempting this race agin next year.
  6. Yes , That is three hours a day on the bike, it must improve your fintness.
  7. One of the typical Hub answers, thinking that the other person is an idiot. You do not know my times so please do not come with smart remarks the whole time. Spoke to the person that was responsible for seeding, they only seeded you if you had three races on racetec in the past six months. They did not look at other timing companies or looked at other results, therefore the people outside Gautend that does not do Racetec results were not seeded. They did not look at previous performances in this race either.
  8. yca@webmail.co.za, her name is Jill, will see if anything comes of it though as I wanted to go for good time and if looking at the C group from last year that means Time trialing for 100 km which will not give the best of times.
  9. What is your number, I am in DL to. Coming up from Bloem to do the Race, one of my favorate races that I remember from the days it was a bit longer 116km. We got a wooden cellphone as a medal once.
  10. numbers will be available on race day from 05:00 to 05:30
  11. Nope, As I said I started in BL last year and finished in the front of the bunch. Only 540 in the results for last year. I did ask for reseeding , will see what happened.
  12. Trained with you for a while before you went to Germany, You , me(the old guy), Andries and " cant remember" now.
  13. Also asked the same as I was in BL last year , finished in front of bunch and much fitter this year.
  14. Hi jean-Claude You from Ermelo originaly?
  15. Of Course , it will help to become super fit.
  16. I am not a medic but read a up a while back. Your volume is replenished in 24-48 hours of the donation. However the red blod cells take much longer. If you were up to where you were in such a short time why would they only allow you to donate blood 56 days later. because some of the cells take that long to replenish.
  17. It depends on you. We are a few guys of the club that train togetherand our club has another ride on Sundays. When still in Gauteng I was part of a club where we got a monthly newsletter with results and happenings of people in the club. It makes it a bit more social but of course if you are a group of friensds that ride together , you do not really need to make it official.
  18. Hi, I also drink about 500mll in a 100Km event. If you want to pack another bottle, or stop at waterstation to refill your empty.
  19. Did the race last year and a few years before that , Its not as difficult as earlier years when it was 115km. Last year the wind really blew , but it is mostly a flat route except for the part through the reserve where you climb for about 10km out of the 22 km you spend there. Road surface was good last year and the 400 section that is not tar was no problem. It might be a problem if there is a lot of rain the night before and then became muddy.
  20. Thanks for the info, Will have a look.
  21. Hi, I do not know what you have tried, but mine sometimes do the same. What has halped to prevent this is tightening the strap as I found it happened when I went over rough terrain . Also applying heartratemonitor lube assist. Is the battery still ok as that also causes these issues. If not one of these reasons then Get a garmin.
  22. Hi anybody know wheer I can do spinning in Bethlehem , as I am there next week and see there is no Virgin there.
  23. Will Send my team on 2 July. But why not use the fantasy league to run this for us. We can have a league in there but of course if this is a tradition lets keep it that way.
  24. My Advise is eat well before the race and then the supplements needed will depend on the length of race you are doing. The sachets do not really do it for me. Normally use around 1000 Calories per hour during a race. The energy gels normally gives around 100 calories so you will have to take quite a few along if you want them to supply yore energy.
  25. Glad to hear as I am getting my new Concept 50 Clinchers on Friday. One of the reasons I chose these wheels is that I also heard good stuff about Leonard from other people.
