  1. Good luck! Great brands to start off with!
  2. Spur jumping on the Banting Bandwagon (Bantwagon - See what I did there..????) Your thoughts?
  3. Lying in bed fighting off a stomach virus! :-( Really hoping to be better by tomorrow morning. I've already collected my sticker. Just out of interest, can I still do a substitution or get a refund? Or must I just kiss my randelas goodbye? I will be extremely disappointed if I'm not better but I have to be realistic.
  4. +1 for awesome service from Sportsworld! Always been happy with both service and prices.
  5. Thanks for all the responses, great feedback from the Hub community as I expected! I shall update with the outcome as it may help someone else in future.
  6. Mr Mulebar, perhaps you can offer advice on my Trek warranty question as per my post earlier please: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/142805-trek-warranty-question-avid-elixir-brake-problem/
  7. Hi Hubbers I bought a new Trek Superfly FS online from a company based in Nelspruit a few months back. I'm in Cape Town. My Avid Elixir 1 rear brake stopped working last week, the lever touches the grip without any braking at all. If you pump the lever it works a bit but then becomes spongy and useless again. Thinking that the brake needed to be bled, I took it to my LBS. They were unable to fix it and suggested that the brake was faulty and that I should contact the original retailer for repair or replacement. Apparently the Avids are notoriously unreliable. I will contact the original retailer in Nelspruit tomorrow for advice but I thought I would get some clarity and advice from you learned Hub people first. My understanding is that I can take it to any Trek retailer and they will deal with the problem under warranty. Is this true? I checked the Trek website and found a number of Trek retailers. The Sportsmans Warehouse in Sunningdale is listed as a Trek retailer, can I just take it to them and expect them to fix it? Hiow does it work?
  8. I had that a few years back. I cant remember how I sorted it but I think it involved installing a new battery and resetting it. Try both, one at a time

He's one of my club team mates (Outriders) and has a very apt nickname : AK47
  10. Very cool tune indeed - just Shazammed it. A tune called Dangerous by Big Data Kona - the best MTB brand in the world, but I am a bit biased 'cos I own one....
  11. Look Ma, I'm on the internetweb thingy! I just spotted myself on the far left. That was a huge turnout on Tuesday. I love Killarney, absolutely brilliant training. Well done to the little guy for not freaking out when the rest came barreling past, it can be quite hectic.

  13. My sentiments exactly, it doesn't make sense to me.
  14. I did a 2:53 from E last year, but it was a particularly fast race for everyone. It was my first Burger so I don't have a point of reference to compare it to. A sub 3 from D should be possible. I'm in D this year and aiming for exactly that. I'm fairly certain that I'll get dropped by D and maybe even E up Helshoogte because I'm useless on hills, but then I'll just try and hang on to whichever group comes past next.
  15. Hi I'm reasonably certain, but just want to confirm the following: There is no plastic spacer between the hub and the largest cog/sprocket on a Campy Veloce 10 Speed cassette. It didn't come with one and the cassette I replaced (also Campy) didn't have one, but i need reassurance.
  16. Heróis do mar, nobre povo, Naçao valente, imortal, Levantai hoje de novo Os esplendor de Portugal. Heroes of the sea, noble race, Valiant and immortal nation, Rise up once again The splendor of Portugal. Well done Rui!
  17. +1 for Easygis, the wrong bracket for my Garmin was delivered to me but Matthew apologised immediately upon notification and sorted it out very quickly and without hesitation. Well done guys, great service! I didn't know that Easybike was part of Easygis until this thread, so I will definitely be using them more often.
