  1. My cousin and his kid got into BMX in a big way after the new track was built in Auckland. It looks top class.
  2. You seem to be right round the corner from Equipment Cafe. They should be able to assist, but leave your credit card at home when you go there...... www,equipmentcafe.co.za
  3. Its a bit of a lottery because I acquired a couple of brown bags with seeds in them, but the most interesting looking is this one.
  4. Pick me, pick me! I try not to buy sauce because I'm invariably disappointed, but I have around 40 chili plants at home of different varietals that end up in my sauce jar from time to time. I use a very basic Portuguese chili recipe that I copied out of a recipe book a long time ago that works quite well and give lots of variation depending on the types of chili I throw in, as well as the vinegars and oils that I use. I have four varietals that are fruiting for the first time now, so I am unreasonably excited to make some sauce.
  5. Dear Maria, of course.
  6. I don't see Blazing Saddles mentioned. By Matt Rendell, its pretty quirky and light hearted
  7. I have an Isomac Amica single group machine that will be available in the new year. SBDU, E61 grouphead, etc., if you're interested. Works great, has been my daily driver for the past 4 years.
  8. I have the Gater Manual Grinder (essentially a copy/off brand version of the Hario Skerton). I use it to grind for Aeropress, Bialetti, Cleva Dripper, and its been great. Seems to keep its grind setting quite well.
  9. Picked up this discontinued Citizen Automatic Diver, with the unusual full lume face. Its in pretty perfect condition for a 10 year watch. First pic is with its original rubber strap, the second with a custom leather NATO by Outlaw Straps.
  10. The reviews seem divided on how effective it is, with most reviewers indicating that it doesn't seem worth the faff. https://www.reddit.com/r/AeroPress/comments/7j82u8/fellow_prismo/
  11. Not sure if anybody has been following this build thread on YouTube? A custom restoration of a Mk1 Escort for the legend of F1, Gordon Murray
  12. I follow a local vintage FB car page, and a restored '67 splittie went up for sale yesterday at R500k. Even late model Fleetlines, '75ish go for around R350k
  13. TCP/IP, yuppie, post-traumatic stress disorder
  14. Brings this to mind.....

    Who remembers?

Punter only came on the scene towards the end of my varsity career, good times I vaguely remember. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

Roxy's was our jol. Go watch Sugardrive, Saron Gas, Nudies, or Henry Ate then off to Cats Pajamas for a 3am pizza
  17. New to me project, just about done, needs bartape. Been a bit of a challenging build. Specs: On One pompino frame and fork, Halo track/flip-flop hub built on 36 spoke Alex CX28 tubeless rim, Fire Eye front rim built to 32 hole WTB CrisCross tubeless rim. Suntour GPX brake levers and Radius cantilever brakes. Salsa Woodchipper bar, SLX 170mm crankset with 38 tooth E.13 chainring, 16 tooth BMX freewheel. Kenda Kwick Tendril tyres 35c(for now), hope they survive. Gravel/commute/CX/roadie thingy
  18. Had some as a double shot Americano this morning. Its pretty good, you won't be disappointed.
  19. Takes seconds to rinse clean, just make sure that you use it the correct way up.
  20. At home, only my Bialetti sees regular use in line with my espresso machine. I have other brew methods, Aeropress, french press, Cleva Dripper, but the mokka pot makes a lovely cup. Tips for the mokka pot: Fill it with boiling water. If you wait for the water to boil inside it, your coffee will be way overextracted. Tighten it properly. If it doesn't seal well, it will spit water all over. Pour immediately once the coffee stops coming up the spout. You won't regret a mokka pot. It's one of my jealously guarded coffee treasures.......
  21. I'm interested to see how your mate tried this. I found some information online about using a hand press to churn out around 60 briquettes an hour and I have access to around 1.5 cubes of sawdust a week, so quite keen to give it a bash. Coupled with the free weekly newspaper in our town as a binder, should work quite well.
  22. A company needs to submit their employee return by 31 April each year. The IRP5's should be available any time after that, because if the EMP201 and EMP501 that the company submits monthly and 6 monthly, respectively, don't tie up with the final submission, it wouldn't be successful. There really is no reason to sit on employee IRP5's, unless there are differences between the monthly EMP201's and the final IRP5 submission..........
  23. I have the standard Able filter. Best thing you can do for your Aeropress. I will never go back to paper filters. There are some fines, but you can play around with grind, brewtime, etc and minimise them. Just remember to orient the filter the correct way up/down as this impacts how easy it is to clean.
  24. We chatted to the guys manning CP3, and almost a quarter of the field had bailed by CP2. We arrived at CP3 at around 3am, with the last riders on course around an hour behind us. Don't underestimate this ride, if you're not used to long distance AND lots of climbing, it's going to get you Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  25. RIP, Barry. I'd only met you a couple of times, but I'll remember: I'll remember the magenta boa I'll remember the mine dump rides I'll remember your love of animals, and Lego and the pride you had in your kids. I'll remember the respect you had for your ex-wife after the divorce. I'll remember every time you got knocked down, you just stood up again. I'll remember that very special Barry humour, equal parts dry, sardonic and sharp. Go well.......
