  1. I may know of a set of alu riser carnegies............
  2. English, do you speak it???? I'll chat to my local barista (the_nerd) to help me out.
  3. Isomac Macinino. Stepped grinder which I went a full step finer (4 to 3) compared to the Domus I was grinding for previously. Going to try another full step (3 to 2) tonight, see what happens then.
  4. Thanks, man. The first shot I pulled was shite. The second was much better.....
  5. Kindle is great for travelling, but nothing beats curling up with a good book. I have a penchant for zoning out and reading for hours, so a tablet with its backlit screen is a no go. My eyes just hurt too much. The Kindle, I have no problem with, even with marathon reading sessions.
  6. Just upgraded my machine...Now to find a home for a well used La Cimbali Domus and Krups grinder........
  7. You can always pop in at Dr. George if you're looking for those period correct parts to round out this build. Just make sure its before 14h00.
  8. Rode my 29+ SS for a while.
  9. I had the same problem with my titanium frame and Thomson seatpost. Had a Red Bull can as a shim, but it still used to slip, even with the Hope clamp tightened beyond spec. Changed to a Thomson seatclamp, lost the shim and it hasn't moved at all, and its tightened to the stated torque.
  10. I'm the same. Its impossible for me to pass a second hand book store without going in. My wife hates it, and I never get rid of any books, so the collection grows.
  11. The Piano Shop on the Left Bank - TE Carhart Snuff - Terry Pratchett
  12. So, I'll be in the area from 26 December. Anything I need to look out for, other than organising a day pass and keeping away from the logging? Can anybody share gpx files for the various routes?
  13. I also had the same initial thoughts about the 29+. However, my Krampus is a lot more nimble than its dimensions and look suggest.
  14. A year ago I was looking for a geared bike as a more "trail" oriented ride. Tried a few fat bikes, but couldn't get over how cumbersome they were. Traction is immense, but they are, for want of a better word, "lazy"? I've been riding my 29+ Krampus for a year now, and it's brilliant. More grip than I'll ever need, but it rides like my other 29er in terms of getting up to speed, etc. Much as it pains me to say it, I think 27+ will get much more traction[emoji1] in the market due to the buy in from bigger manufacturers like Spez, etc
  15. Its a very addictive hobby. I've got around 25 now, but no pokies. Too fast and too venomous for my liking.
  16. Good choice of trails
  17. Was a great day out. Decided to take the SS when I saw the weather and I'm glad i did. Plenty of mud to slog through and saw plenty of broken derailleurs and chains as well as wheels completely jammed up against frames with all the mud.
  18. Frame's too big. Also, I'm at S-1. I have these too https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/148888-superstar-wheels-for-sale-26-price-drop/
  19. I have a 140mm Fox TALAS that would go really well with this bad boy..........
  20. Try it. If you like the suspension fork, keep it on, if you don't swop back to the rigid. My personal preference is for the rigid fork, but it can beat you up.
  21. 1. SRAM 8 speed chain 2. Nobby Nic 2.35 in front and Bontrager 2.25 at the rear on the 29"

    lego

That's a whole lot of bike stuff to sacrifice........
  23. Yip. Got a La Cimbali Domus from him, before that an Isomac La Cafetera.
  24. What's next? Gender reassignment surgery?
