  1. I'll send you a PM.....
  2. It was a while ago. Now when I pour a whole Bialetti into a cup, its no mistake........................
  3. Its a waffle rubber strap from www.cheapestNATOstraps.com. I'm looking at either the leather or sailcloth from Barton Bands, probably in a chocolate with contrasting stitching
  4. My, new to me, Hamilton Khaki Aviation Jumbo. Bigger than I usually wear, but very comfortable. Needs a nicer strap though....... BTW, also a hairy left hander.........
  5. Looks like you got the four cup version there. There's lots of leeway to play with the grind, initial water temperature, stove heat, etc. I've had good results with close to espresso grind, just boiled water in the pot, and a low heat. I also made the mistake, once, of throwing the whole contents of a four cup Bialetti into a cup and drinking it. I could hear colours...........
  6. My cousin and his kid got into BMX in a big way after the new track was built in Auckland. It looks top class.
  7. You seem to be right round the corner from Equipment Cafe. They should be able to assist, but leave your credit card at home when you go there...... www,equipmentcafe.co.za
  8. Its a bit of a lottery because I acquired a couple of brown bags with seeds in them, but the most interesting looking is this one.
  9. Pick me, pick me! I try not to buy sauce because I'm invariably disappointed, but I have around 40 chili plants at home of different varietals that end up in my sauce jar from time to time. I use a very basic Portuguese chili recipe that I copied out of a recipe book a long time ago that works quite well and give lots of variation depending on the types of chili I throw in, as well as the vinegars and oils that I use. I have four varietals that are fruiting for the first time now, so I am unreasonably excited to make some sauce.
  10. Dear Maria, of course.
  11. I don't see Blazing Saddles mentioned. By Matt Rendell, its pretty quirky and light hearted
  12. I have an Isomac Amica single group machine that will be available in the new year. SBDU, E61 grouphead, etc., if you're interested. Works great, has been my daily driver for the past 4 years.
  13. That's a tough place to be in, sorry to hear about that. I was in a similar position 2.5 years back. Got retrenched, got rebuffed by the job market, so I decided to give it a go on my own. Advice? I'm good at what I do, but suck at marketing, sales, etc. all the stuff needed to get clients. I became shameless, punted myself to anybody who looked like they might need my services, and, if they stuck around, treated them like gold. Asked those clients to refer me to others. Things are mostly ok now, the odd month here and there has my heart palpitating every so often, but you have to do what you do. Diversified a bit into services related to what I was doing, and busy turning a love for coffee into a sustainable business with my brother, which will start paying dividends in another year or so.
  14. I have the Gater Manual Grinder (essentially a copy/off brand version of the Hario Skerton). I use it to grind for Aeropress, Bialetti, Cleva Dripper, and its been great. Seems to keep its grind setting quite well.
  15. Gem squash, butternut and marrows all look very similar to this. Be aware that they spread out and take over your garden if you let them, but you will be able to eat off it for a long time. Because we compost everything, we get the same. Sometimes butternut, sometimes marrow, most times, both.
  16. Picked up this discontinued Citizen Automatic Diver, with the unusual full lume face. Its in pretty perfect condition for a 10 year watch. First pic is with its original rubber strap, the second with a custom leather NATO by Outlaw Straps.
  17. The reviews seem divided on how effective it is, with most reviewers indicating that it doesn't seem worth the faff. https://www.reddit.com/r/AeroPress/comments/7j82u8/fellow_prismo/
  18. Not sure if anybody has been following this build thread on YouTube? A custom restoration of a Mk1 Escort for the legend of F1, Gordon Murray
  19. I follow a local vintage FB car page, and a restored '67 splittie went up for sale yesterday at R500k. Even late model Fleetlines, '75ish go for around R350k
  20. TCP/IP, yuppie, post-traumatic stress disorder
  21. Brings this to mind.....
