  1. Ask Sauser!
  2. I just compared the local Spez prices with foreign prices and I was surprised. I recently bought a S-Works SL4 frame locally for about R10K less than the advertised UK price of R31K. Then again, the Previal helmet which retail here for around R2.5K is sold in UK for R1.7K.
  3. Why so long, are you bald?
  4. Agreed, but be advised that you don't choose a Specialized bike as your new ride, the Specialized bike will choose you as the new rider...if you qualify!
  5. I had a set of American Classic's, nothing wrong with them, as long as you change the rim strip often, cause they tend to leak. Now rolling on a set of Easton EA90XC's, and price aside, they are awesome, and they look the part.
  6. I take it that you own a set of Zipp Firecrest wheels and are speaking from experience, or should I assume you are still on the older version and not yet ready to upgrade.
  7. Our test made me get 404's over the 303's, and I do not regret my choice!
  8. My 58mm profile Zipp Firecrests handle cross wind far better than my 45mm profile Rovals.
  9. Elaborate on your vegetable. Is it in the form of a cucumber or a cauliflower? Depending on your answer, you might need a specific gender saddle, and a decent chamois.
  10. SA importer for FSA is www.intltrade.co.za
  11. He was not riding in team kit yesterday, he was wearing his white top.
  12. Not a bad entry level bike, and comes with mechanical disk brakes as well. I know someone with the exact same bike, maybe a bit on the heavy side, but otherwise a good solid ride. Offer the seller R1K, and work your way up from there. Don't spend more that R1.5K, because the model is a few years old.
  13. Hey Spinnekop en BigBen, julle hoef nie groot te wees om so 'n bike te ry nie, daar is kleiner sizes beskikbaar.
  14. Maybe 1.2kg heavier (as pictured) but with proper front suspension. With Renegade S-Works tyres, the weight is down to about 9kg.
  15. I own a number of Specialized products and occasionally had to make use of warranty claims (obviously with proof of payment). The guys at Specialized went out of their way to sort me out immediately and get me back on my bike in no time. I agree with Tarmac that you are expecting the impossible, and that your rant at Specialized is ridiculous.
  16. Welcome to the sport my man! I will be frank, a budget of R3k will not buy you a competitive bike, unless you buy 2nd hand and land yourself a bargain. Try and increase your capabilities finacially and look for something in the range of R8k and up. A R3k bike is a recreational one that will weigh you down in races. The rest of the kit is roughly estimated as follows for entry to acceptable level stuff: helmet - R250 to R500, gloves - R100 to R150, shades - R500 to R1000, shorts - R350 to R500, jersey - R250 to R450, shoes - R650 to R1000, bike rack - R1000 to R1500. Good luck!
  17. The Silverback is a better buy for your buck, and offer better components, however the GT trumps with brand. I will pick the Silverback.
  18. No Father Xmas, unfortunately not!
  19. Good to know that there are a few hubbers with first hand information on the abilities of SAPS. Now I know who to contact if I need help!
  20. Everybody riding funrides in Cape Town should know by now that Cedar Shake and Bake spells 'Excercise extreme caution when you come close to me, cause I can't ride my bike'. This is said with experience of these cyclists bicycle riders!
  21. Bikeporn and cool gear! Was great to hook up before the race Geno! See you next week at the long one.
  22. The hubs are compatible, but you would have to get new grips. The 26" grips are not white-knuckle-compatible, such as the 29er grips.
  23. I would have loved to say it was a Spez S-Works, but could not see. I was focusing on his deepsection wheels, used for climbing!
  24. This guy was a 'B' rider, came pass the chasing group of Vets going over Blackhill during the second round, and he was riding as if he had a 'Cancellera rigged bike' well ahead of his group. Very strong rider. He even brought his climbing wheels... a set of Zipp 808's . Would love toknow what he uses for TT!
  25. Had the Rudy Sterling, as comfortable as 'Dale said, but a bit heavy. Had the Giro Ionos, nothing wrong, and a great helmet. Have the Spez Prevail (x2) and will wear nothing else.
