  1. Ride with a she wee, then you can also stand in the line and do the shakey fountain thing..... Or is that just me?
  2. Did he just go for a bos poofie???? I suspect his back up vehicle will do the bro thing and bring him some loo roll and not just turn their backs and make like they don't know him?
  3. I'm currently running the Ikon 29er 2.25 I'm going to be checking which tire pressure works for me, after the tubeless I rode at about 1.8 bar. I'm going to test out running at 2 bar. Which tire pressure has worked for you on the Ikons?
  4. So that means Brackenfell is in the Karoo?
  5. I once did a 180km ride with a guy, about half way we get to the support vehicle and we go for our bags. Everyone gets in gels and fills up their bottles with mixes of who knows what and I get some boiled eggs and potatoes then while stuffing my face I look over and this one dude is lighting a cigarette and sipping on some red wine! All I could think of was check out this flippen rock star! (FYI he finished strong to enjoy some more red wine and more ciggies) Gels are overated and IMO I'm sweet enough as is....
  6. Try boiled eggs too, I've used the boiled eggs and potatoes on long rides and it works for me. Good luck to anyone who's ridden behind me after those eggs were digested!
  7. I received an email this morning advising that entries are open. Full Xterra R1200 (why does this seem so expensive??) Xterra Lite R600 So Discovery Tri @ + - R1000 and Xterra @ R1200..... Seems like a few people won't be getting Christmas pressies from me this year. Think I'll make the wife a book filled with cuddle vouchers, it's the thought that counts right?
  8. My friend tried Fitchef and after 1 month he lost R3000. Me on the other hand went low calorie and that has worked for me.
  9. My missus is still rocking her Makrodale.... She's over the moon (this is the same chick who bought a Mongoose 26er in 2002 and is still hanging in the garage) she bought some SPD's so she's super happy. We took our daughters to do a sunset cruise along the promenade on Saturday evening, the 3 of them on their bikes and me running next to my youngest cause I've recently taken off her training wheels.
  10. My vote would be for stiffer sentences for fleeing the scene but if you feel that the area in which the accident has occurred is not safe for you and you go to the nearest police station to report it is that deemed fleeing from an accident?
  11. I'm hoping to get an entry to the Discovery Triathlon
  12. Easier said than done! I trust nobody when I ride/run alone, I've pulled my pepper spray out on a pretty lady running with her dog once... OK jokes a side though, I never temp fate. If my bike is on the car it means I'm leaving , I won't leave it on the car unattended. I also ALWAYS tie it down. If they want to steal it while I'm in traffic then it's not that easy cause I've used a long tie down and the boef would need to release the rachet first before the tie down starts to slack.
  13. Hi Oltremo, Which days do you do this route on? I need to get some dirt on the bike soon!!
  14. I usually jump onto the pavement when I see cyclists approaching only cause I'm running against traffic so I have a better view.
  15. I run alot too, I don't even call myself a cyclist anymore cause I run more but it's just peoples attitudes towards anyone else but them. Not even a red light at a pedestrian crossing makes people stop anymore!! The number of times people have seen me late and then put up their hands to apologies like WTF is that suppose to mean? Oh sorry I almost killed you? I had some argy bargy with a lady who rolled over a stop sign clearly looking for a gap in the traffic she nearly shat herself when she saw me a slammed the brakes. Very apologetic about it but unfortunately for her it was about the 4th time it happened in one run home. I then gave her a bit of my mind and she told me I was being an asshole I then said to her that I hope the next person stops in time for any member of her family which kept her quiet. She pulled away and again apologised which I accepted. About 500m down the road she pulled over to fetch her kid and I moved closer to her to explain that I'm sorry she got an earful from me but it happens too many times.
  16. Years ago I commuted with my road bike to work, I punctured 3 times using using all my spare tubes and ended up running the last 2kms to work it was a bike over my shoulder type thing, proper bricking session. A few of my colleagues drove past me and I just smiled and waved as if I planned it all.
  17. If you have time go to your nearest Makro, find the most enthusiastic sport department sales staff engage in some small talk and then ask them to check their systems to find you a small. It's important to remain calm as you might have to suggest what their next step should be if they really want to give you a good customer experience.... Good luck....
  18. Leave the pills they could slow you down, you know the old saying of "Dom Krag"....
  19. Can I suggest using a really strong laxative a few weeks before this race (I can send you my last prescription label, Dr said 1 three times daily, completely different medicine but I don't want you to forget how many you should take)? You'll be spending lots of time on the toilet so no excuses for not updating us. That would bring down your weight but you'd probably be weak as sh*t but it's all about the weight saving right?
  20. Very true, my FIL let my wife know that Makro Ottery had stock. he then asked the staff to assemble the bike while I went home to fetch the bike carrier ( don't worry it will take us 15 mins..... ) and when we got there he was still busy assembling the bike. I didn't want to break the enthusiastic sales staffs spirits so I helped him put the bike together for my wife and then finished it off yesterday at home, correcting what Mr Makro thought he was supposed to do. As many people on this thread are saying it's alot of bike for the money. My wife doesn't need much and she's very happy with it. Massive upgrade on the 26er Mongoose she bought many moons ago. She also has the Olive colour in Medium.
  21. Got my missus interested in one of these for herself.... :-) She's got her dad to tap up his inside man at Makro to let him know when the 5 arrives.
  22. SHhhhhhh..... Nobody was supposed to see me!!!
  23. Hi All, Registered in October never posted but kept popping in daily. Like the forum use it to get a heads up on whats happening in the cycling world. I MTB (not enough), I ride on the road mostly (time constraints) and I Try ;-) (triathlon) Never been a big poster on any forum, I prefer the stalker type role
