  1. Got hold of a Zwift Click yesterday, Makes a big difference as I'm using the MTB (30t chainring) on the trainer. I've regularly run out of gears when racing and get dropped as soon as the group presses on a bit. The virtual gearing will solve this problem
  2. Takealot also has some available
  3. No. The Z2 is essentially a Fox 34 Rhythm with an open cartridge damper and 34mm stanchions. The Z1 is essentially a Fox 36 Rhythm. Yes, Fox owns and manufacturers Marzocchi suspension components and those forks are much better than an the Rockshox 35
  4. He's looking for a trail bike, not an XC or down country bike. A Titan Skyrim should be in the list as well. Of the two, I'd probably go for the Giant myself
  5. Doddy from GMBN Tech explains it best. You will probably need a bit of force and a twisting motion to get it out
  6. I pushed it out using an Allen key.
  7. Same thing happened to me. The pin that goes through the clutch was seized. Pulled it out, cleaned it, hosed the spring in WD40 and gave it some love with some fine grit sandpaper and reassembled it. Smooth shifting all the way 👍🏻
  8. KZN Enduro Champs at Karkloof. Great day out on the bike!
  9. A better fork would be nice as would a dropper post. Some lighter wheels as well. But no need to upgrade components until they are worn out or in need of replacing IMO. You need to decide what is "holding you back" and then decide if an upgrade or a new bike will solve the problem
  10. Thanks! I'll drop you a message so I can organise to get hold of it and see what you would like for ti
  11. Anyone have a brake cable clamp for a Rockshox Pike:
  12. My suspension always makes this noise. Don't worry about it. Just stick to the service intervals for it and your shock and you'll be fine
  13. My forks and shocks (Rockshox and Fox) are always making equalising noises when they reach the sag point. I'd be worried if they were noisy and not feeling great
  14. Sounds the same as my freshly serviced Pike.
  15. Will this be heading to a court of law or have charges not been laid?
  16. Get Stoked has spares. Depends on the model you are looking for, but have a look on this link: Brake Accessories & Spares - Get Stoked
  17. This is a pity. I rode there just after lockdown. It was a really nice loop with a bit of everything
  18. Spray the post with a bit of water before you start cutting and a couple times during cutting. This collects the carbon dust and stops it floating about
  19. I can assure anyone reading this thread that the Top Fuel and Spark are fun bikes, regardless of weight. I'm sure the Titan is fun as well, but I feel the geometry of the Cyphers is a generation behind the Spark and the Top Fuel.
  20. I'd rather go for the Trek if I was you. I've owned the new Spark and I still have a Top Fuel. The Spark has very basic components. The SX/NX gears are terrible compared the Deore that comes on the Trek. The Judy fork is a noodle and don't get me started on the evils of the integrated cable routing on the Spark. Twinlock is, in my opinion, a band aid for suspension that has not been designed properly. Having said that, it is a very nice bike to ride if you're not going to be hitting anything steep or challenging. If I was you, I'd try and squeeze for the Top Fuel 7, which is on sale now. It has a very good groupset, proper sturdy wheels, good brakes, a very good rear shock and a decent fork. It is a bike that can grow with you and help you progress. IMO it just needs a fox 34 or Rockshox Pike and some Deore brake levers and it would be perfect
  21. After some of the shenanigans I saw at the Amohela Classic on the weekend, I'd suggest that skills and vasbyt are far more important than the weight of your bicycle
  22. Can I ask where you got the groupset from?
  23. Basically there is one trail up the mountain and 5 back down to the bottom. Nothing too sketchy IMO and everything is rideable with a dropper post being recommended. There was an older guy there who did everything on a 26" MTB with no dropper and less than 100mm of front travel, If you are looking for a venue for an outride there are better options. We did 1000 meters of elevation in 24km, so you earn your thrills
  24. Vergenoeg Enduro Trails
  25. Is that a dropper post in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
