  1. 27133874-354f-47c5-92b4-c5988ace4a28.mov Picked up a Lyne Hi-Per hub for my Giant Trance. Loving the quick engagement and buzz. Initially there was an issue with the hub. Big thanks to the team at Trailwolf Cycles and Lyne Components for fixing the issue in record time 💪🏻
  2. Exie is going nowhere ummm no. Anthem X is 120 rear, 130 front. Same as the Epic Evo Anthem X Advanced SL (2026) | Giant Bicycles US
  3. Most of them can't even manage a small rock garden without soiling themselves, so more travel is more better. The success of the Epic Evo locally shows that the Anthem X has a place in the lineup for SA
  4. There is an ebike for sale on this very platform that is advertised as being assisted to 60km/h. The seller and a few of his pals have "won" various ebike events over the past few years. Regardless of your views on ebikes, that is blatant cheating. Don't know what race organisers can do to stop this behaviour, but it really smacks of a poor upbringing or some emotional development problem.
  5. S-Works customers will round it up to 10k for the post ride *** praat session
  6. In that case, do they charge extra for it?
  7. Can save at least 20 grams by dropping the dork disk
  8. Have a look at the SQLab range. Their saddles are specifically designed to unload the perineum and put the load through the sit bones.
  9. For sure, but the Anthem 2, as mentioned earlier, does not appear on the local catalogue which would plug the gap. We also don't have the X models available locally.
  10. There are still some Trance Advanced available in the Giant dealers with steep discounts. Not 100% XC bikes, but still very capable and quick. I picked one up last year and had been very impressed
  11. Anthem SL1 with carbon wheels, GX AXS and Sid Select+ suspension for R135k compares very favourably to an Epic 8 Expert with very similar spec for R150k 🤷🏼‍♂️
  12. There was a guy who used to advertise smart trainer repair in the classifieds. Haven’t seen an ad for a while now. Otherwise use this guide and see if an engineering shop near you can help:
  13. My LBS charged me R450 for packing and gave me a box as part of the deal
  14. Speak to a bike shop local to you to see what they will charge to box up the bike. For transport, I’d recommend Triptych Resources. I’ve sent a few bikes abound the country with them and have had nothing but speedy and efficient service. IRC R700 to send a bike with them. Took them two days to get the last bike I sent from JHB to CT
  15. More feedback. Shoulder has the "knoppie of shame" but is 100% functional. I'm going to gym to keep the strength up and make sure the muscles are strong enough to keep the joint stable. It was clicking a bit at the beginning, especially during physio and gym, but that seems to have passed for now. I'm also able to ride and do all my daily activities and I can sleep on it no worries. I was really down when the injury happened, but following the advice of the docs and physio and it really hasn't been that bad
  16. 100% recommend Cyclesure. In my experience they offer the best comprehensive cover for cyclists. For example, I had just taken delivery of a Trance 29 last year August. Insurance was in place, but I had not paid an installment. Had an accident on the first ride that resulted in a dislocated collarbone for me and scratched carbon bars and XT brake levers on the bike. Sent a query through to Cyclesure about whether I was covered. Within a week I had a new set of brake levers and a new bar. All I had to do was pay over my first premium.
  17. You don’t want a slack bike, you want an upright bike. Something with a short reach and a high stack to give you a more upright riding position. The bikeinsights website will allow you to compare bikes to find what you are looking for as well as indicating whether the bike is long and low or short and high
  18. If you are being quoted R5k to supply tyres and do a tubeless conversion, find a new bike shop. Tyres R1100 a shot, R300 for tape and R200 for sealant should be ballpark pricing. Actual work should take less than 20 minutes for a competent mechanic
  19. Don't sweat the details so much. The Giant is an entry level trail bike. All the reviews agree. You have confirmed it is not the latest model of the Stance, which makes the Titan an even more obvious choice in my eyes. Tubless setup is as easy as a bottle of sealant and some rim tape (assuming the tyres are compatible). As for sizing, at 179cm, I would think the Large is a better bet.
  20. Skyrim ST all day every day. It has a much better frame and suspension layout. The Giant might have the better drivetrain, but that is about it.
  21. Could be a bike fit issue? I had very tight hip flexors for a period a while back. When I had my position adjusted (mainly a lower saddle height) the pain went away almost overnight
  22. I recall GPLama saying the sizing is a bit different to standard square taper. His video on YouTube confirms clearance and sizing difference
  23. There is a bearclaw crank available from Zwift. Online the chat is now focused on asking for an adjustable offset seatpost https://us.zwift.com/products/zwift-ride-adjustable-crank-arms
  24. How are you finding the fit and comfort of the Zwift Ride?
  25. Last ride for 2025 at Hennops
