  1. sure we make them do it...but it's now 2019....prison are to max capacity with the dregs of society ...murderers...serial killers etc...test it on those that are no longer part of society and wi never become part of society again. I could be starving on the streets but there is still no way I could do what these people do and go home with at night and think nothing of it.
  2. You have to ask what sort of people could actually do this and go home at night without remorse? I would love nothing more than seeing these guys on the wrong end of my steel toe capped boots....
  3. Gotta say I haven't heard that one before for a welcome change!
  4. I think I read somewhere the Chinese are the worlds biggest consumers of pork? Biggest decimating nation on earth as well in my opinion...
  5. Common sense not visited you in a while I see.....
  6. Agreed, although I don't eat meat, I have no issue if you do BUT it does not give you the right to make an animal suffer....slaughter the livestock here and ship the meat across... If the Muslims don't like it, tough luck mate...go somewhere else.
  7. I usually fry up the sausages first...add some onions, garlic, chili and mushrooms or what you fancy, add a little bit of pkt mushroom soup and a touch of water, cook for a minute or two to thicken and then chuck everything into some tin foil, double wrap the foil and these are good to go on the braai, chuck them on, leave them for 10 minutes and tha'ts that sorted (leaving you with plenty of free time to answer the inevitable 'oh so you are a vegan/vegetarian....how do you get your protein...!). Usually someone will help you scoff these sausages done this way as well....! Or if I don't have time to prep for a braai then I just coat the sausages in some olive oil or whatever oil the braai host has...add some spices and just cook them quickly before they have a chance to get too 'dry' if you know what I mean...
  8. Took the bike up to the cross in Magalies....made it without knackering up my RD like the last time I tried it! Looking forward to the 11-46 cassette though...!
  9. Bye bye winter...see you next year....
  10. Every single person can make a difference in the world...but its entirely up to you if you want to make an effort and try...
  11. If you do your wheel bearings on a Shimano hub and its the loose ball bearings type (i.e ballbearings are not in a cage), hold a magnet nearby the hub as you pull out the axle...also remove the axle at a slight angle so only one lot of bearings can make a break for it....I hold the wheel in a vice (old shorts/cloths etc around the rim). DONT undo the nuts at BOTH ends of the axle or its pain in the ass to get right and balanced again..(newbie move!). A bent ear bud is also great to clean out the bearing race inside the hub if your fat little fingers dont get in there...like mine And keep a packet of the two bearings sizes in your tool box....eventually, oneday, one of the little sods will manage to escape somehow....somewhere... One of my best tools....a little magnet stuck on the end of a telescopic aerial...
  12. Pretty much the opposite for me....saves time and money if I do it myself...Bike shops charge a fortune and take forever to do something simple... The couple of LBS's I have tried in the past for repairs only managed to has hash it up...I can do that myself anyway thanks!..
  13. It is kind of ironic that a vegan wears a Spur shirt.... Oh wait.....
  14. See.....another vegan telling us she is vegan...........
  15. Gotta get myself one now....! Electric bicycle riders have always known that e-bikes can actually be a great form of exercise. But a new study now shows that e-bikes can actually result in riders getting more exercise than standard pedal bike cyclists. Here’s why. https://electrek.co/2019/08/11/electric-bike-riders-more-exercise-than-cyclists/?fbclid=IwAR3ValasJwdKso7-G6TX8F6B4Chuk5MsT53wrqlF5jfzbA-Ca93agtt941Y
  16. Animals and the planet in general (but I don't have kids so I shouldn't really care too much about the future world, not my problem!)... Although I am not full blown vegan I have been vegetarian for a good few years...the weight just dropped off me (was 100kg at my porkiest....just below 80kg now, thanks to cycling AND eating better)....as for unhealthy...I hear that crap quite a bit from my mates...and each time they are told there are a couple of spare bikes in the house...come for a ride and lets see who is unhealthy....I get turned down each time!
  17. Daft comment of the week...!
  18. Can't beat it!
  19. 3 long sleeve shirts, one gillet, 1 pair leg warmers, 2 pairs socks, 2 pairs gloves, 1 buff on the head, one on the neck....and it still felt cold! Come on summer!
  20. What about someone like Fiona Oakes . May not have won the Comrades but has plenty of other achievements...
  21. I bought the cheaper one and got my mom got the 2 x battery unit. Be warned....that two battery unit weighs a ton...(60kg or so).! Fortunately/unfortunately I haven't had a chance to test them out really...they are quite noisy as well while charging up on the mains (loud fan noise), however once the power is at 100% they switch off and all is quiet...I will run mine from a spare room with an extension...only wanted one for a computer and keep my phone charged up...small one runs a 600w desktop machine with a graphics card and 2 x screens without any issue. The cheaper unit's housing is just plastic - no wheels and the 2 x battery unit has a steel cabinet with wheels...wheels are not great but if its stationary it wont matter (and they help drag that thing about the house!). I wouldnt want to be moving it about too much though....You can upgrade the small one to have a steel housing but I wouldn't pay the extra R1k or whatever it is for this unless necessary. I am adding some wiring at my moms place so she can just plug a cable into the inverter unit and have some lights and sockets through the house...they suffer with blackouts at best of times so I think moms unit will be used a lot more than mine!
  22. Agreed, soon it will be those hazy smokey frosty winter mornings and fields of black everywhere... Still, no mud to be found really so there is a benefit!
  23. Lucky it wasn't on today!
  24. Went right off my egg sarmies when I cracked a egg into the frying pan and a chick landed in there...
