  1. Looking towards the Magaliesberg and Hekpoort.
  2. Looking towards the Magalies mountains, low cloud over the Hekpoort valley area...
  3. Taking my new Momsem AL129 out in Magalies...Not a bad bike at all for its price.....and I am starting to enjoy the 29er effect....! My only gripe would be the sneaky 'tapered' looking head tube that is actually not tapered at all on the inside!
  4. Started again (well, quit again!)....day 8 of no fags after smoking for about 18 months again... Helps when you get bronchitis and have to take time of work to try and recover! Cold chicken method....

  7. Disagree, I love Webers, can braai on them, bake breads, do pizzas, in my carnivore days one Christmas we even did the turkey in one!
  8. Always, always remember you are an addict...I stopped for almost 6 years, had some personal stress in my life, took a smoke one night when feeling pretty low down and bang....started smoking again. Almost 15 months on and I think its time to stop again. I dont feel the effects too much on the bike but when running its pretty obvious I am a smoker!
  9. Money on McGregor....although the article says it will be a boxing match...
  10. Wow, I am really sorry to hear about Barry. Although I didnt know him personally after 6 or so years on this forum you kinda get a feel for someone and he seemed a solid guy who was always willing to help man or beast where he could. The world loses another decent person... RIP.

  12. I normally ride alone but yesterday a friend decided to dust off his bike and tag along so we each had one. I wound up having to walk back though. Felt a bit sketchy being clipped in with a puppy under my arm and a bumpy road!
  13. Agreed, they are lucky they are so cute as I have a home for both of them so at least they can go together.
  14. Found these two abandoned by the railway line in my area yesterday. Pretty sure they were dumped as its a remote area. Very lucky as I don't usually cycle down this route but the weather was turning and I wanted to get home quickly. A train had just gone by and they were waddling along the track.
  15. Magalies, beating the heat!
  16. I will just have to shuffle the beers about....
  17. My pain is more or less where the mark is in the image. IMage is supposed to be from a heel spur but I dont think (hope) that is what I have. I am taking a week off from running and will see how it feels on Sunday for a little walk about for a few km's...why is it as soon as you start to make progress and feel as though all the effort is finally paying out, you end up with an injury! In fact the pain is a little higher up than the mark in the image.
  18. Anyone have any advice for my problem. Up to around 16km cross country runs now but the last week or so my one heel has been quite sore. Its not the underneath part but the 'side' of my heel (actually the inside side!) I don't know if its from jumping around on rocks or if I am over doing things (but otherwise I feel fine) or if its because i have been doing a few extra km's on the tar lately. Anyone else suffer with this? I only really feel it after leaving for a run. With normal walking, cycling etc it isn't really noticeable.
  19. Looks a nice hilly area to be riding a (rigid?) single speed for 7 hours odd...!
  20. Stupidly I started again this year after 5yrs of stopping. Stress of exams after 16 years of not doing any! Would go outside for a coffee and a smoke during 'study time'! Trying to quit again though. Almost a week free...
  21. How did he get onto the roof?
  22. Resting after the training...(these two are brother and sister and often lay together like this)
  23. My collie undergoing intense training in camouflage techniques....
  24. Started my training for the 2018 one....! Bit far away I know but as someone who has never really run I figure its best to go slow and steady for this.
