  1. Anyone had broken solar panels in hail storms? Do they damage easily?
  2. What would the labour regulations say about moving staff to shorter shifts and restructuring shifts/cancelling shifts because of loadshedding? Is a company legally able to do this?
  3. Ja, soon we won't find candles! Or you will have to wait 3-4 weeks!
  4. Yeah, they told us not to worry last week as well and then we suddenly jumped to Stage 4... I would not just take this scenario with a pinch of salt. If you are one of the fortunate few who can afford to get some power sorted out do it! The rest of us will look out from our dark houses and yearn for the days when we also used to have electricity! Pre cANCer days....
  5. Don't worry about the door, not much else left for them to nick.....
  6. Man. Just spent an couple of hours driving around trying to find little inverter packs just to keep a light on and a phone charged...stock is scarce people!
  7. Am I being stupid here as I confess I am not the most financially clued up person but why do we import power and then also export power? Or do we only export power when we have an excess? If we have to import power then that means we have a shortage? But then why not stop exporting power to make up the shortfall, surely our own needs are more important than another country up north?
  8. How do you put fingerprints onto something?

  14. I work at a small manufacturing plant. It costs us about R200 an hour to keep a generator online to run some basic machinery....that's another R800 odd a day to find....or another R16,000 odd a month.....no way we can afford this over another 3 or 4 months. Not that it will happen but as tax and VAT payers we should be able to claim a refund...
  15. Squirrel can shove his shocked statement up his ass...doesn't help anyone when the small businesses close down....
  16. yep...unions just mess everything up....time Cyril grew a pair and boots out all the unemployable at Eskom before it's too late....if it's not already....we can't be held to ransom by people who have no clue about anything.
  17. Next level of uselessness....
  18. Chance that loadahedding will continue to April....we can't afford to keep the factory running on a generator...well done Eskom ...chances are good there will be more people unemployed soon....
  19. Isn't America home to most of the worlds population of fatasses? Maybe a few vegan meals would help them over there....!
  20. some years I ago I took my 4x4 up the Sani pass thinking it would be an adventure....meanwhile it turned out going over Breedts to visit friends was a lot more of a challenge!
  21. Strangely I had been reading this thread and drifting around Facebook stalking people and that picture appeared....
  22. I chop the brinjals and mix salt in. Leave in a collander for a while. Rinse off the salt then I fry up onions, garlic, peppers chilli's and some tomatoes and then add the egg plant. Let it reduce and thicken to a nice sauce state then I freeze it and use it for pasta sauces and a topping on potatoes or with some veggie sausages and pap. It's nice if you make a big pot a d freeze 4 or 5 containers worth so you have half your meal ready for you.
