Bearing(!) in mind with cup and cone you do need a slight bit of play, the clamping of the wheel to the frame then absorbs this without the bearings running tight...Once you get the hang of i with a couple of tools and a magnet servicing these hubs is a pretty quick job. For what its worth I do my bearings every 3 months or so...but I don't ride in rain and mud or drag the bike through rivers and I do have a quick feel of the wheels when I flip the bike over every few weeks to keep those foam wipers in the fork oiled up.... https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cone-adjustment.html
I read over the weekend on a FB group page that there was a fight with a cyclist and a motorbike rider near Bidon? And then you apparently have off road motorbikes on the MTB trails....and runners that don't move over...and cyclists hogging the road and ignoring their lanes.... And then the dreaded support vehicle....
Its not much better here in Magalies...on a winters morning the smoke from the dump, the rubbish they burn at Spar, the previous night's veld fires and the wood stoves hangs like a heavy blanket over the valley....
I would have thought freehub body?....pawls not releasing....I've had similiar issues before....and wound up walking home when the freehub completely fails....(last time was cranking up a steep bit of track...hub failed...i took a fall)
Ja...it was a bit heavier than I thought as well, I'll look around for something lighter so its not getting on my nerves when I run and maybe keep this one in the car....
Saw this on FB this morning, not sure if its been posted here...I did a search but found nothing... MISSING SINCE 14 MAY MICHAEL JOHN LATSKY 43 years old. He went cycling from Somerset West, through Strand to Gordons Bay. His very expensive bicycle was found & handed in at the police station in Gordons Bay. However no sign of Michael. Thing is crime was pretty hectic before CV19.... Now everyone and their dog will have a go at it... You can legally wear a mask to obscure your features now and you know you just have to thrown an empty carton of smokes into the bushes and shout 'smuggler' to keep the pigs busy for hours....
Most are just opportunists....its not just the snares...as mentioned fencing and poles are walking off..trees are being decimated by the truck load..isolated local lodges are being robbed of everything, including the one whose trail this is,....water infrastructure is being damaged and stolen..wont be long before that lonely old water reservoir for the town is gutted and stripped out...The guys know no-one is up there these days so they are just running free....
Jaaa...and its not just snares,,,cut fences...droppers and poles missing....gates missing....irringation pipes missing...water meters missing...transformers missing.... Being decolinised!
