  1. Just keep in mind there is a shortage of bike parts throughout the country and world. And bikeaddict has always given me good service.
  2. He sent me the exact same message, I told him I'm a dancer in the service industry and thus just work with cash. He hasn't responded, he probably thinks as an engineer that he is better than a dancer...
  3. I think he responds to gumtree Adds
  4. Go for the SLX 11 SPEED over the NX 12 speed.
  5. Nevermind I realize martinjac2020 has featured many times on this list as a scammer. I thought it sounded familiar????
  6. Hi is martinjac2020@yahoo.com a scammer?
  7. 10 speed hubs can take an 11 speed cassette but it's only for the 11-34 cassette. The CS-HG700-11 should work according to shimano. https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/shimano105-r7000/CS-HG700-11.html
  8. If it's the one as in the link posted then probably around 21k
  9. Yeah I can understand that, I've just realized regardless of the industry, if you want the fastest service just give them a call and chat some ball. Makes it pleasant for everyone
  10. I see bikeaddict is getting a lot of flack. I've ordered from them many times and it's always been a pleasure working with them. Just make peace with the fact that stores can't afford to keep everything in stock. If you need something immediately now then that's just an indication of your lack of planning, apart from emergencies. BA has good prices
  11. I have noticed however that they increased the travel on the Spark to 130mm and on the RC to 110mm travel
  12. Here and there you see the new 2021 Scott Sparks, I see Cycle lab are selling them. But I can't seem to find it on Scott's own website, no press releases or anything. Does anyone know what's going on?
  13. Am I the only one that didn't get an email for free socks even though I did the ride...?????
  14. I guess you are running a 11-50 cassette? Upgrading to a 10-50 cassette really makes a big difference. That small 10 tooth sprocket makes a massive difference
  15. it's crazy how those XT hubs are failing. One of my friends had two XT hubs fail on him. I did some snooping around on the Shimano website. If you look at the XT/SLX hub workshop manual and compare it to the FH-MT510 HUB then you'll see the XT/SLX hubs are far more complex with these small springs internally. I agree with the previous comments, just get the hope hub or go my rout and buy the cheap FH-MT510 hub. Much more simple and would probably last a forever. For those tec guys if you would like to compare the XT/SLX hub ve the FH-MT510 hub FH-MT510 https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-MBHB001-05-ENG.pdf XT/SLX hub https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-MAHB001-06-ENG.pdf
  16. A friend of mine brought it back from England before it all arrived in SA. But I guess now with the m6100 release those hubs should arrive soon.
  17. Yes I agree Shimano was slow to get onto 12 speed. And yes XX1 and XO1 is excellent from SRAM. I think once you've experienced what it feels like to shift gears under load and doing so effortlessly with the Shimano 12 speed then you'll struggle to convince yourself that they are 2 years behind. I think you have the brands mixed up though, SRAM = Apple? A new XO1 cassette costs R6000, for that money you can get a new SLX 12 speed shifter, chain, cassette, derailleur and a new microspline hub. The SLX probably has the same or even better shifting. But in the end it does come down to the legs you are right...can't buy yourself up that hill
  18. Makes sense to save a buck or 2. The shifting performance on the new 12 speed however is really something to experience.
  19. Weight plays a massive role in your climbing speed. If you both put out the same amount of watts but he is lighter then you are then he will win every time. Just an interesting article regarding this. https://www.bicycling.com/training/g20033781/by-the-numbers-how-losing-weight-improves-cycling-performance/
  20. I have a Shimano 1x12 setup with the FH-MT500 hub which is the entry level microspline hub. I have the XT shifter and rear derailleur. Then running the SLX chain and cassette. My setup has been running smooth for the past 1300km. That with the 2019 Karoo to coast which was in horrid conditions, rain wind and fine grime that got in everywhere. Changed the shifting cable after 1000km but more than that haven't done anything. I have really been punishing it max power shifts up climbs and in sprints and the shifting performance has been sublime. I can’t vouch for the XT rear hub of yours but my cheap entry level microspline hub has been taking series hits and it’s still running like new
