  1. Please fix the thread title before you get sued.
  2. I don't think I'm that sensitive to bike changes, but for me tire pressure is critical. I use a tire gauge before every ride. I want to know I'm getting maximum grip without going so low I damage rims. For trailside repairs, thumb test is fine, but it's not accurate enough for daily rides thanks.
  3. Thanks Droo. Fork ID is C3C4. I'm about 74kg and ride relatively smooth. I'd be happy with 140mm, 150mm might change the Geo too much anyway.
  4. Better act now, before you lose out!
  5. Is this what you need? https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-forks/496667/fox-34-150mm-air-shaft-27529-820-02-369
  6. https://www.olympiccycles.co.za/product/pro-pressure-checker-digital/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA9OiPBhCOARIsAI0y71D8x9TeBDAe4In2YBvEaB8JkUYafTLi0-Hodcehp8a7_U9QAbdrtLwaAsvAEALw_wcB Much cheaper and fits in your back pocket.
  7. After living in KZN my whole life, I have found living in Paarl very relaxing. I've never even considered owning a road bike until I moved here. For sure, there are places that people speed, but for the most part, drivers here are some of the best I've encountered.
  8. People love to criticise others when the consequences of their law-breaking are fatal, but justify breaking it themselves when they judge it to be "harmless".
  9. Sorry for jumping in here. I've got a 2017 34 Performance Elite set at 130mm and I'd like to go 140 or 150. Will it use the same cartridge as above? Will it handle 150mm?
  10. The only downside to BHP is the delay in money reaching the seller. I bought a relatively small item using it and the seller seemed frustrated with me that I waited to receive the items (3 days shipping) before finalising the deal. If you don't have an impeccable and long standing record on Bikehub, that's a small price to pay IMO.
  11. Everyone wants the world to change, but no one wants to change themselves.
  12. "Voted best".
  13. I ride with a Camelback Ultra Pro running vest. I barely know it's there. The Camelback chase looks like the perfect replacement.
  14. Which bleed kit have you ordered and what is the landed cost if you don't mind sharing? I'm about to pull the trigger on a bleed kit so would like to see if it's worth going the import route or not.
  15. Just ignore the pretentious responses and get a full sus as you originally stated you were looking for. Even though you are buying the bike for Sani, that will hopefully not be the last time you ride it and for that reason a decent marathon/trail bike will be your best bet. 120mm travel is perfect for general trail riding, can handle pretty much anything within reason and will just make it more comfortable when things get rough. Spend a day going to your local dealers and see what they have in stock in your size. Get the bike that fits and looks best. Enjoy.
  16. If the press releases continue in this vein, then I foresee a forum thread titled "bring back the press release comments" starting soon....
  17. Consistency. Boards mounted on the same style and colour post throughout the network, at the same height. Arrows: Don't use "up" arrows to show a trail continuing, and then suddenly place a directional arrow to show the route continuing along a road, I'm going to begin looking for a split. Always place arrows at the same point of a corner or intersection. It drives me mad when they are always just before the corner but then randomly the arrow will be placed AFTER a corner because there was a convenient post available there. As for the rest of your suggestions, I don't think it really matters, so long as your markers/boards display information the same way throughout the trails. I should have to pay attention to the first board to see what information they contain and how they are laid out, but after that I should be able to gather any necessary information with a quick glance. Edit. Mark EVERY intersection. What seems like an obvious route to you may not be obvious to me if a tree falls, grass grows or I just lose concentration and think I should be going a certain direction.
  18. I find that often there is enough signage, but the markers don't always make sense. They are either ambiguous to someone that doesn't know the trails, or they are used inconsistently. It seems that the people placing the signage aren't doing it from the perspective of someone riding the trails for the first time.
  19. Quite honestly, all I want is well marked trails (uncommon in the Paarl network) and easy to find routes on Trailforks.
  20. 2 years ago I had to conduct a funeral for a cyclist who was killed riding on a flat, straight road. There were no cars up ahead so he was head down and going for it. A lorry passed him and then a little way down the road they pulled over to answer a phone call. They stopped in the yellow line where he was riding and he didn't see them until it was too late. I'm glad Bernal survived this and hope he is able to recover well enough to enjoy a full life. Returning to riding at any level would be an added gift.
  21. I have the 2FO Roost and I find them very comfy. Stiff under pedaling but still great to walk in. I have a pressure point in the top of my left foot, so I have to lace them strangely to avoid pain, but this is the case with all my shoes. I tie the laces in a comfortable position and then slip my foot in and out as necessary.
  22. You mean there are people that DON'T ride for fun? I wouldn't even know how to do that.
  23. That is such a stunning colour, superb!
  24. Cycling is fun. eBikes make fun accessible to a broad spectrum of people that wouldn't otherwise find cycling easy or even possible.
