  1. They seem too retail in the US for $10 - They have also got some good reviews
  2. Hi all, has anyone tried these things out yet? http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recreation/bottles/podium-chill.aspx They look pretty good what with summer comin up, would be good to know that they actually work first Just hope they dont break the bank if the do work
  3. So what should one do then, just continue to be ripped off? I hate to see anyone go out of business, but they need to be more fair, the agents as well. Otherwise it will soon be the LBS & agents seeking new employment. Surely with the numbers coming into cycling/mtbing the prices would come down As some one said, not even the bike shops stock much in the way of parts - So "Joe Soap" should be able to order from the agents as well, if not then as people are, they go elsewhere, be it an online store with lower overheads or we go overseas, surley out economy could do with the money? Also cant understand why a major bike service is as costly as a car?,if not more(well my bakkie at least) The tyres are just as expensive as car tyres, gosh look at the size of a bike tyre compared to a car tyre, are they havin a laugh. Its all just gone so out of proportion its crazy. It will now cost me an arm and a leg(maybe I could sell a kidney) for a once a year major service on 3 bikes, not too mention consumables.
  4. Its not a matter of bithcing and moaning, Its about the price being right. Why should I be forced overses for the same goods at a reasonable price when they can be bought here at a massive premium. Surly The agents like anyone will want more profit , and if that means cutting out the LBS so be it. We all know they have been ripping off people for long enough. Having lived in the UK for 10 years, this would not be allowed to happen, and I know it wasnt- Prices were more reasonble, cycling is not seen as an elitist sport either, as it will eventually become if things dont change.
  5. Why cant you buy direct from an agent? Evn if you were to say buy yourself 10 group sets for yourself, friends or a couple other people?
  6. That sounds awesome, I'll definatly take you up on your offer very soon Is it free to ride cascades, where would you park, pay etc.
  7. Thats what I wasthinking, but alas it doesnt seem that way. Gosh I could sell them at least three cranksets and two brake sets this week alone - Business is business as far as I see it
  8. So what if I want to distribute myself though To me and myself.
  9. I dont even watch rugby, lol - Ill support whoever I need to to be able to buy from an agent, if it saves me money trying to run 3 bikes, Ill support whoever it takes
  10. Why not? Is my money not good enough
  11. So I can buy direct from them?
  12. Whats Coolheat all about? Are they suppliers to the general public? They are a right funny looking bunch from their pics on the website
  13. The other direction would be out to sea, not Ballito. To go to Ballito head up the North Coast
  14. Bwah ha ha, sorry just had to laugh Urban City Trails more like it, yeah either Giba or Holla, Giba is safer for not getting lost on your own , better sign posted I would say for a first timer for either places
  15. Not doubting they wont take punishment, waht you doing to the glasses in the first place that they are taking a punishment? Secondly I bet my Adidas would take an equal amount of said "punishment" -They cost me R900. This is where it gets expensive - It costs you R5000 for full presciption lenses(Rudys), my Adidas Adizero R1000 with photocromic & anti scratch, thats just the lenses. Then add your frames to that. Also they wont let you but the two things seperatly even if its cheaper Load of bollocks if you tell me
  16. Is there anywhere or anyone or anyplace in Durban that does these sorts of Bike Mech service courses. Its driving me crazy not being able to do my own servicing & repairs
  17. Where in Maritzburg - Need more trails to explore - I ride a lot by myself though Also was thinking somewhere in the midlands.
  18. They need to also introduce MOT for vehicles every year/or two years to get all the unroadworthy vehicles/taxis off the road - Taxis should be every year, and they need to start paying tax as well on all their earnings
  19. So true, thats how stupid our Metro police are? They should be locked up, car impounded and have the book thrown at them. The car only released after a hefty fine, Its strange when the government can get massive revenue from it, but dont follow it up - Taxi have one set of laws, another for the rest of us How do taxis keep getting away with it
  20. Sure about which part? - Its worse then I thought. Read the post after my original post
  21. Really about the getting lost part , I was hoping to ride there by myself this weekend sometime.
  22. Tragic news again, RIP fellow cyclist I think they said something like 80 000 people with fake licenses on our roads(it could wee be more.), there are 3 taxis in Durban that owe something like three million Rand in fines.
  23. Not that particular frame, but I did read about the bikes in various reviews, they seem pretty good from what I read, they are a Dutch company
  24. http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=14675361
