  1. Where to find a portable microscope ? Possibly a magnifying glass rather
  2. Looks like it has been possibly knocked down by a vehicle judging by the tyre marks on the sand?
  3. Clamp it as low as possible on the seat post and you should be fine
  4. I've got the same work stand, and that's exactly what I do, like any work stand isn't it, unless yours is faulty.
  5. Thanks for that, silly place to put knee protection sizing in the wheel sizing menu
  6. Hi All, I am on the lookout for a set of knee guards. I have found a set that I am keen on, but not sure of sizing. I have looked on the website for POC and have found nothing regarding choosing the correct size. I can't find any info regarding sizing on the Troy Lee Design website. I am 1.82m tall if this helps. Are knee guards like helmets, where you should really try on before you buy? Many Thanks
  7. How much mileage did you get out of the drivetrain including the last 6 weeks?
  8. At least it's the ex boss and he doesn't have to go back and work for him next week.
  9. Good Luck for tomorrow
  10. But a 3x10 will work with spacers to convert to 2x10?
  11. You don't need to change the crank, just adapt it with other chainrings, depending what your cassette is.
  12. What is there team name?
  13. Four abreast, it must have been magic
  14. A good friend of mine started selling those things
  15. Welcome to the hub, sorry it had to be under terrible circumstances. I hope that your husband is going to be fine and will recover quickly I stay in Woodbridge Island and use the path a lot for training, as do a fair amount of other folks here on the hub. It's sad that an incident like this has occurred so close to home. We are sadly now going to have to be ever so vigilant on what you would assume to be a normally safe place to ride. Hopefully he won't be put off by this incident and will be back on the bike.
  16. Now you say solid choice? I had a Nobby NIc on today at Tokai in the wet, and one of the guys I was riding with for the first time, who also had the same bike as myself(Trance 650B) but different front tyre. He mentioned that the Nobby Nic is not a good tyre for the wet, something to do with the compound and them being not great in wet conditions especially going over wet rocks & roots and that they have a tendency to slip out from under you. It wasn't much longer after this that I saw my arse having decided I needed a close up of the terrain. Front tyre slipped at a mini rock garden section, this was coming down Cobra. Also bear in mind this was also the first time I have ridden this section, so could have just been me having an off ride because of the rain. Any suggestions for a front tyre, especially now that we are going into the rainy season?
  17. No rain on the Milnerton side of Cape Town, so Contermans is still looking good.
  18. We started as it was getting light, by the time we were at the top we were wet, cold and the wind was pumping. It mad for an interesting decent, did see my arse on Cobra, rocks are very slippery and apparently the Nobby Nics I'm running are not great for wet rocks & roots. Fun ride nevertheless It was my first ride in Tokai in 6 months at least.
  19. Early morning ride at Tokai today, followed my Contermans this afternoon - Hopefully everything dries out
  20. Makes me mad This is were I ride on a regular basis on my own, very close to home now
  21. I've got a similar thing going on at the moment, my right & left forearm & elbow, sometimes feels like it's on fire. It is more so the right arm though. It is not consistently there, but certain movements are fairly painful. I'm thinking it could be down to my new bike & set-up, as that's the only thing that has really changed with regards to bikes( I have two other bikes I ride.) I also do a lot of CAD/ Computer work on a daily basis. Would a cortisone injection work? What type of surgery are we talking here, and what is the recovery period if it comes down to worst case scenario?
  22. That mushroom could have made for an interesting ride home
  23. Took my old school 26er hardtail out for a ride today at Conties after recently getting a 650b Trance, and it felt like I was going back to a BMX or a much smaller bike, it certainly felt strange. I know a lot of folks say that there is barely anything in it, and that you can gain an equal advantage by running fatter tyres, but this just felt smaller, and smaller some how just felt better. I felt more in tune with the trail and the bike, felt almost Zen like. It whipped around corners, flew over anything in its way, it was flipping awesome is all I can say, and that 26ers ain't dead, I'm a firm believer. I can't wait till tomorrow, I even went and bought a shorter stem, and gonna see how things handle, super amped.
