  1. The YT has a small feel to it. If you are around my lenght I would look at the XL (body proportions obviously also factor). I have noticed that due to the slack head angle when I raise my bar the reach drops alot. Or I have a vivid imagination
  2. I am 1.86m and have a large. I would prefer an XL. The bike is very good for jumping and very manouverable. Climbing is not that great. It bobs alot (i have the base model without lockout).I think it suits "good" riders more than the average joe. It's a great bike but it needs to be ridden hard. Won't recommend it for the average 40km Tygerberg Trail loop rider.
  3. The trick is to run Mavic rims. Then you don't break your rims. Jokes aside, a smaller volume tire is more progressive (like your Pike after your bottomless tokens) . So its better if you ride hard
  4. short = low profile (soos op jou GTI)
  5. Have to admit it is a big generalization. However, in my experience I have never perceived a benefit from a higher sidewall. I would rather have a "shorter" tire at my desired pressure which is more stable on the rim and would generally be lighter.
  6. Can someone please explain this volume obsession? Higher (not wider) sidewalls are stupid. Option 1: less than 1.5 bar pressure - squirms Option 2: more than 1.5 bar - no benefit from larger volume
  7. I love light tyres. It really makes a massive difference. I have the cheapest Jeffsy without lockout and TBH it pedals K@K. So very hesitant to go too heavy in the tyres.
  8. Don't you find the Minion DHF DD as too heavy for a bike you pedal uphill? I actually have a brand new one I bought by mistake(wanted EXO) but geez 1146g is DH territory.
  9. I find the Onza Ibex a stupid tyre. Very pressure sensitive. Have a nice open knee and elbow from a hardpack slipout. I going stick a Minnion DHF upfront with a Ikon or Adent Race rear #enduro.
  10. These aren't my first pair of kneepads and they (Leatt) are not durable. I did like them while they worked ( < 6 months).
  11. I have/had the Leatt 3DF 5.0, they are comfy and protect you well when crashing. I now have the Troy Lee Raid pads which the internet raves about, they are warmer but better in most other aspects. I will however not recommend them as they are not durable at all. Mine are completely torn after one crash and Leatt does not stand behind their product to replace or repair them.
  12. That's Kelly McGarry , RIP
  13. He uses a Specialized P.3. Any jump bike will work well. Good cranks and wheels help TONS.
  14. Nice riding! I have the same bike What brakes are you using? What is your gear ratio?
  15. Well done Shimano. All over this as soon as I get the right excuse or special from oom Chris
  16. Fact of the Matter is its a 29r with 140 mm travel and FSR suspension. I will buy it in a heartbeat. I wonder how it climbs.
  17. Where Are the bearing and linkage dimensions shown? Most standard metric sizes are anyway derived from imperial specs.
  18. I have five10 impact vxi's, nice skate shoes work just as well grip wise, but the extra sole stiffness, toecap and quickdrying fabric really helps a lot. So look for those things. I also have 2fo clip shoes, also nice but in retrospect I would rather save more and buy five10
  19. Hi Guys I'm currently at Discovery but I have been thinking of changing to ProfMed, as there are slightly more benefits for basically the same rate. Do any of you have any experience with ProfMed? Or should I just stay at Discovery...
