  1. What make was it? I sometimes think that companies go to 35mm because their 31's just aren't up to par.
  2. Apparently there was a verbal or other committal that is enough for Bora to think they can hold it over him but no contact as yet and Quckstep are pretty certain he's going there. One thing is sure, Sam wants out of his long Endura / Netapp / Bora relationship.
  3. They have a Renthal Alu bar still there but at R1800 and it's been cut down to 760 already I'd just go with a new carbon Fat Bar V2 from CRC for R1500 and also throw some of those Renthal Ultra Tacky grips in for a couple of hundred buck as they are awesome.
  4. Black sheep had a alu bar and stem but Renthal don't seem to bring in locally. I've had the Alu and the carbon and the carbon is much better. The Alu is very, very stiff. If that is your thing then it's heaven. I enjoyed it when I had it but when I got the carbon version it was night and day. If you were ordering overseas then double up with Headshot and rack up the bling. Personally I'd look at the Hope carbon bars. They are drool-worthy. For your friend of course.
  5. These are in special at CRC at the moment and are hard to beat. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/wtb-stp-i-29-mtb-rim/rp-prod151670 Then the usual suspects. Go spank again, look at the new Flows, Kore Realms, buy those hope hubs in the classifieds with a decent spoke count and build.
  6. No man, he's on the rise. Don't send him to the retirement home yet!
  7. Will be interesting to see what exo+ is like. I've run exo previously and not had any issues but a bit more protection isn't going to hurt. I'm not so sure about this feeling that you need heavy DH cases for places like Tokai but it seems to be the recommendation by a few local shops I've been into recently. Difference between our trails and the DH scene that these were developed for seems quite big.
  8. Nope, everyone drinks Cortados.
  9. 100%. Has anyone quantified the official level of a 'Low Ball' offer vs a real offer? A guy who thinks his bit of kit is a bargain can get the knock if you offer 5% lower and another guy will price his item up a bit expecting a haggle and then will happily take 20% off. What is the point a keen offer becomes a low baller? To be honest it's a sellers issue getting knickers in a knot as it reflects on what you think it's worth, getting annoyed at people wasting their time and viewing it as a hassle and a low ball offer rather than an offer that you reject. I treat all offers the same and with a polite, decent response because R50 below what I want to sell and R1000 below are the same to me. End of the day if it's well priced then it sells almost instantly here and there isn't a chance for the ballers to start balling. If it sits then people are going to make offers because it's not priced at the market value. You know, some people actually accept offers and some people make counter offers. Chances are I low balled for my new house recently. I got a house.
  10. And you've got no feedback on your profile yet people want to throw down feedback for people making offers (how ever low, it's an offer to buy) who don't buy. Might be a good idea to focus on getting the feedback system better before getting upset about people trying to buy your stuff and wasting a minute or so of your time.
  11. I'd be surprised if I didn't get a low ball offer on a sale. I don't find it a problem and just really with a simple 'Sorry, I think it's a good price for the [insert item] so I'll hang on for the moment and say no.' It's only annoying if you let it annoy you. What does it take, like under a minute to ready and send back or ignore? People, are allowed to make and offer and I've occasionally made a low offer on something that I maybe wasn't keen on at that price as I didn't think it was worth it or I was 50 / 50 on it at the full price but 80% into it at a lower price. Often I just pay asking price because I think it's worth that much to me. As for PM's vs Whatsapp. If you specify then they should contact you that way but if there is the PM / email option on the advert so some people will contact you on that or via all the options if they are amping for the item. If you specify Whatsapp and they miss out because they contacted you a different way then then that's on them. Personally I hate having to contact via Whatapp. It means I have to add you to my contacts and I end up with load of people I don't know and don't really want clogging up my contacts. I tend to just send an SMS and then you can clog up your address book with me if you're too cheap to send an SMS!
  12. That is a stacked top 10 there. He's been mixing it up well with the big boys recently.
  13. Nope, just silence on that count. Probably as it was getting a bit spicy and had the potential of escalating.
  14. Not a one day only thing but if you want a bum bag then this is one of the best with a few randellas off. https://capemulti.co.za/product/camelbak-repack-lr-4-1-5l-black/
  15. I thought it was kumbaya. Maybe you guys went for the mexican version?
  16. Saw in the newsletter that they have raised R30,000 through memberships. So that makes it 100 members so far? Drop in the ocean for the number of people that roll up there on a weekly basis. Hopefully the posts and threads in the last few days have at least raised awareness the the membership scheme and increased the numbers signing up. Way I see it is my that my activity card is for all my CT activities and one of those is that I need it to go riding anywhere on the mountain. My TokaiMTB membership is for my riding, my little bit towards the cause and a lot cheaper than a fair few of the annual passes about. I've got no issues.
  17. As far as my thinking is if it's an AGM for the TokaiMTB Organisation and the members of that organisation then they don't exactly have to open that up to everyone do they? I've been involved with wildlife NPOs and their AGMs aren't open to everyone. Their documentation and reports are but that is a different matter. It's not a sanparks AGM after all. So, what time is the meeting tonight as I'm a newly paid up member and want to attend.
  18. Kinda weird. Didn't think it'd got that level yet but would good to hear why it got removed from the admins.
  19. Sounds interesting. Let me know any details as they form up.
  20. Depends exactly how you dress it up.
  21. Ah the new Santa Cruz!
  22. Start a new thread with this statement then shut it down. Job done. I've got a longer legged Enduro / AM rig that the reviews claim was one fo the best climbers, great descender, great acceleration, super poppy, blah, blah. I'm sure it is compared to other pretty down focused sleds but compared to my aggressive trail bike it still is hard work for 80% of riding in the cape. Pedaling is part of the deal here even on the trail and it's not all north shore terrain. Next bike I'll be getting back to the Jeffsy, Following, New Process 134, Ripley, Smuggler, Remedy arena. Things that pedal good and drop like a stone as well as everything in between. I realize going fast isn't everything and sessioning is fun but also I love going fast down stuff and that is super fun. I still have the fastest times in Tokai, Hoogies, Conties, Garden Route and Jonkers back on my 29'r 130mm trail / am bike than I do on my 160mm / 150mm enduro racer. One exception is Ezelenduro and first part of DH1 I'll take as much travel as I can!
  23. Golden hub... 'let's not get started' thinks 'it's like a fake friday' and then starts it!
  24. They look very hot, hope they perform half as good.
