The scale of the fork in your pic doesnt look quite right, and the front end will be quite a bit higher. But why would you want to put a Shiver double crown fork on a bike like that? I had one about 4 years ago and its a massive fork weighing in at around 4kg! its also got 190mm of travel so it will totally throw off the geometry of that frame
  3. No 6 for me....
  4. - Wow, thats nice!
  5. The XTR cables are great, and work incredibly well, as long as you change them regularly. That special coating on the shift cables eventually wears off, and the little black specs soon clog up your outerhousings, making shifting problematic. If you are looking at longevity in your cables, rather go for the standard non coated cables.
  6. Easton and Thompson for me. Have tried FSA, Ritchey and some ITM parts, but have sold all of that and have now gone for what I believe to be the best and most comfortable parts for me. My collection includes: 3x Thompson Elite Seatposts 2x Easton EC90 Seatposts 1x Easton EC70 Seatpost 2x Easton EA90 Stems 2x Easton EA70 Stems 1x Easton EA70 Road Bars 1x Easton EC90SLX3 Road Bars 1x Easton EC70 MTB bars 1x Easton XC-One MTB Wheelset
  7. Damn thats nice!!
  8. No braking required on that lap, as long as you pick the right lines (and are at the front of a bunch or on your own). You can go through the bottom corner over the grate at 55km/h plus, and if you have the right line (through the trees) you dont need to touch your brakes. We were all chatting about the course lastnight at dinner, and all discussing our different lines, corner markers, braking points, gear change spots. Its quite intereting to hear everyones different views on the exact same course. Oh and thanks Pornstar for the Whasps, im sure they contributed significantly to the increase in pace last night!
  9. Good question, im sitting here in Illovo wandering the same thing? Looks ok here, but who knows what will happen in the next 3 hours??
  10. Nice one Thug. Now your 705 will be able to shout at you for pushing to hard at the Tuesday evening crits!
  11. Ive got one and i LOVE it! Much much stiffer than my previous Six13 frame, and like spinnekpop says, its stiffer then the Supersix that replaced it. It has a tapered 1.5 - 1 1/8 steerer tube which adds to the front end stiffness. I havent heard of one instance where the frames have failed, and we have quite a few still in the club. They can also be built up very light, my 58cm built up with Record weighs in at 6.8kg. The black and blue ones were the 2008 models if i remember correctly. 2007 was only the polished alu / black carbon, or the plain red paintwork. 2008 was the black and blue, or the white and black paintwork. Also bear in mind it has a 30mm BB30 bottom bracket system (BB30), which again adds to the stifness of the frame. Which crankset does it come with? The carbon or the alu SI crankset? If you have the option go for the aluminium version, not only is it lighter, but its also stiffer!
  12. Those are tubbies alright, it says so on the tire. TUFO is the brand of tubular tire stuck on the rim.
