  1. I dunno, they did tell me how to cut it, but i cant really remember all the details. I think a pipe cutter was needed? Anyway, needless to say went onto CRC and bought the short one for much less that i could get it here, and i didnt have to worry about cutting a two thousand rand seatpost! (P.S. HOG, I found all the manuals and stuff that came with the M4, They were at the bottom of my tool box! So on the next ride, ill bring them for you.)
  2. just remember..... cutting any seatpost will result in the supplier not warrenting a claim should something go wrong or the post snaps off.... Interestingly enough, when i contacted Omnico about getting me a short EC90 Seatpost, they told me they only bring the long 400mm post to SA, and if i want it short, i would have to cut it down myself. As long as it was cut properly, they would still warrantee it.
  3. Sure let me know!
  4. Im in JHB, 2 mins from Eastgate Shopping Centre
  5. Ive got the entire 450 minutes of SABC coverage recorded onto my PVR. Only problem is i dont have a DVD Recorder. If anyone has one, and wants a copy, Ill need to lend it for a day or so, and ill record it to disc for you.
  6. Cannondale with Boras and Super Record!
  7. Remember, the last Tuesday of the month it will take place in Woodmead, in the parking lot by the new Mugg and Bean. Will be good to start a little later, and to race under floodlights! Zaskar2009-03-17 01:32:08

Hairy, ive got a set of STX brake levers (with removable 7sp rapid fire plus trigger shifters) you can have. They were off my 1994 Diamond Back and will work with your cantilever brakes. In fact i think i still have the cantilever arms if you want as well! If you can organise postage / transport from JHB for them, they are yours.
  13. Does anyone have either a spare or an unused set of Shimano Tools TL-FC35 (crank removal tool) and the TL-FC17 (crank installation tool)? http://www.bike24.net/images/products/p015382.jpg TL-FC17 http://www.bike24.com/images/products/p015383.jpg TL-FC35 Im looking for a set, and as usual my lbs says Cool Heat dont have any in stock either. So i was wondering, as there have been quite a few XTR cranks for sale in the last few weeks, doesnt anyone have a set lying around that they will sell off? Thanks (Edit - Thanks, i managed to get hold of a set!) Zaskar2009-03-10 04:27:31
  14. Mine was a traditional 3 ring crankset with granny removed, shifting with a trigger.
  15. I also had two chicken rolls, and water etc from the (race) finish (as did my entire family), and we are all fine! Maybe it was just the adventure guys?
  16. I used to care, and be really fussy about the logo and the valve etc, but now I dont really give a damn. I just put it on, and the logo goes where it wants to. When I stand back and look, it just looks cool. But then maybe thats because there are more to my bikes than the tires / wheels that make them cool. (Also with Tubbies you dont have a choice where the logo goes! )
  17. Or just adjust the cable and run it really short, so the derailleur cant move the chain lower than the middle ring. Thats how mine was set up
  18. None of our group had any stomach problems after the race
  19. Thats terrible news, esp as we rode past there at about 5:30 this morning, but in a bunch of around 40 riders. Hope the SAPS can do something about that spot!
  20. Wait, here is a better pic that does that front caliper justice...
  21. Yip, 8.8kg, not the lightest in the world, but still impressive if you ask me.
  22. Sounds like a good deal, but that does depend on what they retail the pads for. They say half price, but who knows, they may mark them up just for the event. Would be nice if they put the RRP on their site....
  23. I got mine a few weeks back, and I LOVE it! Replaced a 2002 Alu Zaskar Team, and the difference is like night and day. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=41690
