  1. I had the exact same thing with a KCNC seat clamp. I was tightening the seatpost bolt with a torque wrench, and before it even got to 5.5nm the whole thing just exploded. The bolt and little pieces of metal went flying everywhere. Turns out the small little orange alloy insert into which the bolt is tightened totally disintegrated, and i was left with some broken shards of orange alloy! Not very cool, but i manged to make a plan and use another bolt / nut which worked. I didnt even bother going to my LBS where i bought it the day before, because i knew they would just claim i overtightened it. Even with the torque wrench I could not prove otherwise. Anyway I learnt my lesson and I wont be buying another peice of KCNC bling junk again. Zaskar2009-07-01 07:34:46

  9. But you were like on the front quite a bit..... I had a nice ride with the "guard" right at the back of the bunch.... What guard was that? I was only on the front on the roads with streetlights... (all two of them ) I think that was MR. Plod, better known as Jeremy

  13. 75kg Kenda Karma Front: 1.8 bar Conti Mountain King Rear: 1.8 - 2.0 bar depending on conditions. Both running on Easton XC One rims with a homemade 'ghetto' tubeless conversion. Never had a days problem with it.
  14. If i was you i would just keep a lookout for some good second hand deals here on the hub. You can pick up a complete 105 10sp group for between R3000 and R4000 depending on condition. Thats a better option that mixing and matching campy and shimano bits. Sell your stuff, and upgrade to 10 speed shimano.
  15. If its a campy shift / brake lever its called an ergo lever, and as far as i know you can run them with a shimano cass. I used to run dura-Ace and Ulterga cassettes on my record and chorus spec'ed bikes. As long as they are both ten speed it should work, but you might have some chain issus as the spacings are not 100% identical. It always used to work fine for me if i was shifting a single gear, only when i shifted 2 or 3 gears at a time did the chain jump. But once it was in gear it was fine. Try it and see, but im sure it will be ok. Zaskar2009-06-09 00:54:24

  17. Neither does the Shimano Adaptor. But you have to upsize to a 180mm rotor!

  19. Nice Ian, glad you got sorted These days with the price increases it seems that you have to update your insurance at least twice a year! What a pain, but in the end its worth it i suppose...
  20. Ive had a HAWG since 2001, and i still use it frequently. Its is a big bag to ride with, but I used to use it to communte to work and back, to carry my clean shirts / lunch etc. Its a great peice of kit, but may be a little big for everyday riding. Its great on an orienteering kind of event, or an adventure race. I tend to use it more now as a daypack, as my hand luggage on overseas trips, or somewhere to keep my expensive cameras etc while travelling. I have however moved on to the 'Honcho' which is a much bigger Camelbak bag designed for snowboarding that sportmans warehouse had on sale a about a year back. Now that is a great bag for travelling! Ive never used a MULE, so i cant compare, but the HAWG is a great bag if you need the space. Zaskar2009-05-18 06:02:00
