  1. Hehe no seriously I quite like it especially on the long rides / straights or long climbs. And using that in conjunction with Wattbike data gives you a good indication of what you are doing and should be doing. But I agree that on trail type riding it's not really of any use except for giving speed in wooded areas when GPS reception might not be so good. I just bought one to go with my Fenix3 but have not fitted it yet.
  2. Once I think yes but that was when I was lapping you....
  3. I agree, it gets really painful if they start to chafe a 1/4 of the way in. So normal shorts are a no no for me either unless if they have those tight-like inners.
  4. Check SportsmansWarehouse as well, First Ascent just launched some nice trail running kit with better prices. http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/?submit=&subcats=Y&status=A&match=all&pshort=N&pfull=N&pname=Y&pkeywords=N&search_performed=Y&q=trail&dispatch=products.search&viewall=true
  5. It's only useless if you push your bike a lot
  6. If you want the bomb shorts buy the Salomon Men's S-Lab EXO Twinskin. They are super comfortable and light. Only problem is the price tag... they are hellishly expensive as with most Salomon stuff, but in saying that I have 4 pairs of Salomon shoes, many T-shirts, running shorts, socks, caps, hydration pack etc. hehehe...shhhhhhhhh I love their stuff and really swear by it. Otherwise Asics also make some that have the inner sleeve almost light a short tight on the inside which really helps with chafing.

Gymlink is the analogue way Polar uses to transmit HR so that the watch can be used while swimming since BT doesn't transmit under water. I would say to tray and unpair and pair when your missus' sensor is not closeby.

Have you paired your sensor with the watch via bluetooth? It seems like this indicates that it is using Gymlink to get your heartrate like when swimming.
  9. Same here but havent found any other bugs since.

  13. Sorry can't help you there but here is a guide which is very accurate. http://www.catlike.es/pdf/CATLIKE_Quieres-saber-cual-es-tu-talla.pdf Furthermore if you go to http://shop.lifecyclessa.co.za/you caan buy straight off there. If you see a model you like but the website says that your size is not available, call them first as they always have a few extras in stock. The whole wall of the garage was stacked with just Catlike helmets so I'm sure you will find what you 'like'
  14. Oh and this Whisper I bought for R1 329!! Awesome price better than you will get ANYWHERE!! 227 Murray Street Brooklyn, look out for the BMC gazebo on the front lawn. If you need the cell number, give me a shout.
  15. Ok so got my new lid yesterday. Great service although they are still unpacking but Ashley helped me quickly to find what I was looking for.
  16. Yeah saw the sale. Thanks for the heads up on the move will pop in there tomorrow!
  17. Cool stuff, I bought my first one there but did not know whether the shop still existed as Velo Menlyn is no more on their website. Lifecycles you say, perfect I will rather go and buy from them, this other guy just does not seem legit.
  18. Ok so cracked mine the other day and need a new Whisper, do any of you know of anyone still selling these in SA. Or have any of you bought from this guy https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/135338-catlike-helmets/#commentsStart He seems a bit evasive on where he's from etc.
  19. Seems like cyclocross makes your makeup run

    Polar V800

Hi Guys I just picked up anew unit from Polar in Midrand. It first started by not wanting to make contact unless you press the charger connection onto the watch. I then started noticing that the cover was separating on the righthand side of the watch. Apparently this is an issue with the battery swelling. So just keep an eye on it. While i was there another guy came in with the same symptoms starting to show on his watch.

Only for IOS at the moment Android has to wait for Q2.
  22. I always apply a good bit (cover the chain and links properly) about 20 minutes (a while) or so before my ride / race. And if I have time just a quick 'squirt' before the actual ride. Put the nozzle to the chain with your fingers around the spokes steading your hand and the bottle a few mm from the chain and squeeze whilst turning the crank backwards. That's how I do it, others might do it differently.
