  1. YAWN. 'Possible'. 'Alleged'. Did they all put up their prices on 1 October 2008? This investigation will take ages to be completed. Look how long it's taken to get it started! And even then will probably just fizzle out into a soft warning by which time bike and parts prices will have been increased again and again because of the weak Rand and global economic crisis.
  2. Great stuff! Start with the little things... Worked for New York City.
  3. Correct. Sastre made a point. Still wonder why they're not widely used though... Agree with you on taller riders being better suited to 29ers.
  4. Against who?
  5. ngala 24, ask yourself whether or not a national or world MTB title has ever been won on a 29-inch bike and you'll have answered your own question.
  6. Correct. Well, mostly. At the current new-bike prices, there aren't many decent dual-sussers under R20k. The extra money is well worth it though if comfort and control are priorities. Sean Badenhorst2009-02-24 14:23:08
  7. No, no, no! Not methylate! Do not let those wounds dry! Keep them moist with a mixture of Betadine and Vaseline paste (mix the two) and keep them dressed for 7-10 days. Change the dressing daily. I guarantee you that in two weeks you will only see minor remnants of this crash! Sean Badenhorst2009-02-21 11:27:44
  8. Had my appendix removed early yesterday morning (Fri 13th) , but then spent the rest of the day floating on a Pethadine cloud .
  9. And this would be which of the more than 1000 road and MTB races in SA?
  10. Not sure what's up with Speedy. Will call her tomorrow. Amy Jane has been a victim of some type of yuppie flu so her return to form will not be soon, sadly.
  11. Cool pics Stuart! Was there earlier and there was a great vibe.
  12. Heading off there tomorrow AM for two days of bike testing. Can't wait! Heard it's awesome. Probably see you there BigBen. If you see us, say hi. The big camera lenses should make us easy to spot...
  13. Great pics! And some flippen sweet bikes! Good to show you don't have to dress in branded Lycra to ride a bike. Keep the momentum guys, let's hope it becomes infectious...
  14. Yep, Gary is great. And so is Sven Martin, another top South African MTB photographer: http://www.svenmartinphotography.com/
  15. Go well guys and girls. And post pics!
  16. Now that I think of it, I went into myrace.co.za through a link my club emailed me. Don't know if that made a difference.
  17. Shew. I went onto MyRace.co.za, filled in my details and got my licence within two weeks. Didn't have any of the frustration you did. I thought it was quite a pleasure compared the old system.
  18. Must be either a new thing or a Cape Town thing. I've never seen this ridiculous activity in a road race ? or even heard about it ? but then I haven't done a road race for more than a year... What next, a cautionary shout to the pack to indicate a gear shift is about to occur? PS. Very well said Ian Rodger!
