  1. This 603 loctite @droo? It is the devils stuff, we use it all the time 🤣🤣
  2. Would be a roadie for now, the MTB ones I have seen are way to expensive to experiment with
  3. Thanks, can you tell me how tall your wife is? My wife is 148cm, so a real pipsqueak Having looked at the tandems I see now they come in L front S rear, and looking at them it seems there is quite a bit of room for "adjustment" as far as the sizing goes for the stoker, so I guess I will now have to cobvince her that it is a good idea.....
  4. Buy another bike, it is always the correct answer....
  5. How does tandem bike sizing work? Is each position a different size? I would like to try one to see if my wife would enjoy it, she cant ride a bike on her own, but likes the idea of riding, so a tandem would allow us to ride together, I ride Large MTB, but she would need an XS or at the most maybe a S frame, do you get tandems with those sizes? Are they difficult to find if you do actually get them?
  6. Thats great, but just check for burrs, it is a very common thing on the GX cassettes, of you are happy to live with the ticking then fine, but it literally takes 5 minutes to check if they have burrs.....
  7. Check the cassette for burrs, my cassette also ticked in the lower middle part of the cassette, put the bike on a stand, shifted to the sprockets were it ticked and watched the chain, you can see it jump slightly, and then filed off the little burrs, they are really tiny little burrs, my cassette has been silent since I did that, 3 of the sprockets had burrs on them
  8. I need to know something though, did the Lamb shank and whisky guy at least pull the group on the ride? Or was he a freeloading wheelsucker there as well? 🤔
  9. If I get the spokes through Wayne, I will probably just ask him to do the build as well, any thoughts on his wheel building skill?
  10. Great news, the reviews on Rapides sight are all positive, but you just never know, so wanting some extra input, thanks for your input 👍
  11. My Lyne wheels are looking rather worse for wear, so I have bought some new rims, DT EX511, and want to build them onto my existing Lyne hubs, but my question is, what spokes should I go for? DT competition are the "obvious" choice, but they are quite expensive compared to the Alpina double butted spokes from Rapide, but I dont want to cheap out on spokes after splurging on the rims, however I also dont want to "waste" cash unnecessarily. Would the Alpina spokes be nearly as strong and reliable as the DT spokes for less than half the price?
  12. We are, definitely, I decided to buy a big ass Enduro bike and I live in GP 🤣🤣 have changed the shock and airshaft in the fork so I now have a big trail bike, and it is still way over gunned, but, I love it......
  13. Ah, ya, sometimes that happens 🤣
  14. As you say, conditions are always changing, Buffels is just extremely muddy after rain, and it is that thick clay mud, which is why I haven't ridden there in ages. But best you can do is just try do some "research" on the events before hand, I have never ridden a bicycle around the area of Legends, but as far as I recall from dirt biking days, it is not really muddy in that area, more sandy type dirt, maybe start a thread (look for a thread) a week or 2 before the event and ask questions to people who have done the event before, or ridden the terrain to find out what can be expected...
  15. I wouldn't get narrower tyres, that only happened because of that clay mud packing up on your tyres, you could have had skinny gravel tyres on and the same would have happened
  16. Spank is not on their list of brands 🤔
  17. First time I have ridden here in almost a year, really enjoyed it, the new little features are really fun, and I cant wait for the "enduro bro" lines I saw to be properly opened, that is going to be fun.... The birds tagged me twice, once on the way in and once on the way out, obviously mom and dad were coming down at me, will be riding here more often now again, but will skip the creek part for the next few months while the birds are doing their thing.....
  18. Needed this one....
  19. Pretty sure the Recon from your Sola can be adjusted to 120mm travel, just ask your bike shop, but either way, just go have fun on your new bike
  20. Do you still have the Sola? Swap the forks, the 32mm fork will feel better, and will be a fair bit lighter as well
  21. Did a Zwift last night, but like 30 seconds before I finished loadshedding struck, so that means it did not load to Strava, which means I did not actually do anything, which means I shouldn't have wasted all your time with this here post.... But I can, so I did 🙂🙂🙂
  22. And some villains look like nice respectable people with 5 star ratings
  23. Nope, the visits were months apart, so definitely not that they would have recognized me
  24. This I have experienced many times, when I had a Suzuki Swift, no one would help me, when I got my double, albeit slightly older model, people would make a slight effort to help, when I pulled in with my double cab and a dirtbike on the back, almost everyone in the shop wanted to help.... Same people, same shop etc....
  25. Looking for some of these little bolts for SRAM brakes, I know I can just get M3x10 bolts, but I would like to try keep it all original.... Not looking for those zef oil slick bolts, just the standard silver bolts....
