  1. Funny how different people are in terms of what they prefer for feel, as others, I dont really have a preference on drivetrains, but there are things about brand that I like more than the other, SRAM looks nicer, and that little lockout button on the RD is awesome when taking the wheel off, but the none serviceable/replaceable/adjustable clutch sucks, and the shifter looks nicer than the Shimano, however I prefer the feel and dual release thing on Shimano (MTB) shifters and the fact that the RD clutch is serviceable/replaceable/adjustable, BUT the way the RD sounds like it is running through a pulverizer if it gets a TINY bit of water/mud on it, that irritates me
  2. @Titan Racing Bikes when will the specs for the Valerian and Switch models be available? The pictures of the bikes on Bike Addict and what I managed to see on your website are very different
  3. Beat me to it
  4. He isnt saying R15k off the price is getting shafted, rather that R40k for bike should only sell for maybe R30-R35k BRAND NEW, and not a demo, is the shafting
  5. I really enjoyed the dissector 2.4 exo+ maxx terra front and rear on my bike, for me it has enough grip, and relatively low rolling resistance, some guys say it doesnt last well, but I haven't had that experience with it. Also, Vittoria Mazza front and rear, they have felt amazing up to now, but, I have got a fair amout of punctures with them, all of them I have been able to plug up until Saturday where I got one that isnt even big, but it just wont seal, not even with a 4x4 mushroom plug. Anyways, I am now going to be trying the Hutchinson Griffus tyres that my bike originally came with again.
  6. How do I get my hands on one? My GX clutch is a bit pap
  7. I made my own pistons from ally when I had guide brakes, super simple things to make

  9. My van also has also had 2 VERY annoying rattles/squeaks, one I thought was coming from the dash board, checked the cubby hole, checked under the dash at the wiring to make sure nothing was flopping around, could not find it for 2 weeks, one day, picked up a friend to go riding, apologized for the rattle, 2 minutes later, he clipped my sun visor back into its clip, rattle gone 😂🤣😂 The other has been bothering me for over 2 years, passenger door squeaking, gets worse when the weather is cold and humid, checked the door rubber, went away for a few days, so I spent MONTHS trying various things with the door rubber, silicone spray, taping up the painted area of the door that pushes against the door rubber bla bla bla, everything helped for a day or 2 and then it was back, then one day my Dad noticed that the door had a bit of movement when it was closed, suggested I adjust the retaining hook that door latch holds onto, did that, squeak went away, bliss, 2 weeks later it came back, adjusted it again, no squeak, few days later back again, I have now wrapped the hook thingy with some masking tape, and it has been so quiet for at least a month, like driving a whole different car 😂🤣😂
  10. Hey guys, looking for a 7/8 speed rear derailleur, screw on style 7 speed cassette and a chain. Anybody have some stuff like this for cheap maybe? I have a bike I want to give to our guy who works in the garden, but need these parts to get the bike running nicely before giving it to him
  11. I have a set of Crankbrothers Stamp 2 Large, DM me if you might be keen on them
  12. Shocks normally have the valve protruding from the body of the shock, forks are recessed into the fork leg
  13. It will work for most rear shocks I think, not forks, but I dont ever use it for that, I just use the same shock pump all the time, I am also not that pedantic over my shock and fork pressures
  14. Is the bird still dive bombing people at the creek?
  15. Could be that, but no way for me to really check that
  16. Hey guys, so my headset has been a bit creaky the last few rides, it is a semi intergrated headset, Cane Creek 40. I took the cups out today, greased them and refitted them, but it seems there may still be a creak, what else can I try if the creak is still there? Would some carbon compound work? Or should I maybe try a bit of loctite?
  17. I dont feel like going through the whole thread, so it has probably been answered already.... Is there any real difference between the sram XO1 and XX1 chains? There is a significant price difference between them, and I am almost due a new chain, so just checking if it really worth the extra R800-R1000 for the XX1 over XO1?
  18. Yes, they are old and outdated, and I demand a 75% discount on one....
  19. My take on this, I bought myself a Slakline last year, and it is amazing, descends like a beast, has saved me from a few hairy moments were I tried things above my skill level etc. It is an amazing bike, however, I recently dropped the fork from 170mm to 150mm, and the rear from 160mm to 140mm, so essentially a Hyrax, I couldnt be happier, it climbs a lot better, and honestly, on the downs, I haven't missed the extra travel, in fact I have beaten all my Strava PB's with the shorter travel, it just works better for me and where I get to ride most of the time, if I was in WC/KZN/MP though, then maybe it would be a different story.....
  20. I ride a 30T with a 10/52 😂🤣😂🤣😂
  21. Also brought in some DT Swiss EX511 Rims a month or 2 back from CRC, landed to my door for about R1.5k less than I could get them locally
  22. So pay the 10% deposit, get the bike, you probably get a lower interest rate that way as well, then pay the other 40% you have a month or 2 into the contract, and you will land up with essentially a 36month contract and save on the interest.....
  23. The Pyga E bike is another I am interested in, yes it is a "full fat" E bike, but it is a Pyga, and I am a bit of a groupie 🤣 could also just get a frameset and swap all my Slakline bits over....
  24. The only 3 flow lines I am aware of and have ridden are Wolwespruit, Grootfontien and Iron Throne Wolwe is awesome, biggish jumps, but even guys like me who are not particularly skilled at doing jumps can ride them fairly easily Grootfontien has even bigger jumps, but is also a more technical line in my opinion, and you need some decent skill to comfortably ride all the jumps Iron Throne doesnt really have many jumps, but it is FAST and steep, LOADS of fun
