  1. Worldwide Cyclery has a nice video on youtube where they do back to back tests on a bunch of Carbon bars, maybe give that a watch?
  2. I have/had 510 freerider pro, they were nice, but they didnt last that long, I still have them and they can be used, but only in the dry, they have holes in the soles and the sole seems to have started delaminating on the pressure points on the pedals. I now have Leatt DBX 3.0 really enjoying them so far, they grip well, have a nice stiff sole for pedaling, but not so stiff that hike a bike is uncomfortable, I regularly wear them for walking around in while shopping, but you need to be careful when lacing them up, they have no stretch laces, so they have NO give if you do them up tight
  3. The first thing I thought when I saw that route, is that they were taking the piss by making an abstract dinosaur picture
  4. I was at Wolwespruit earlier, the trails are looking really good, I think if there is no rain tonight, it is going to be prime for riding tomorrow
  5. Little bit of a shreddy at Wolwespruit
  6. It is a system on some Specialized bikes on the rear shock, pump the shock up basically to max psi, sit on the bike and press a button on the shock, and it basically sets your air pressure to the optimal pressure so you get the correct sag
  7. Wolwespruit is not to bad, Grootfontien apparently drains well so should also be pretty good, Hennops is also normally pretty good with not too many muddy sections after rain
  8. Tyres can make a huge difference, when I got my bike it had Hutchinson Griffus tyres on, changed to Maxxis Dissector front and rear, it made a massive difference to how the bike felt on the climbs and flats, I can only imagine that lighter and faster rolling tyres would make an even bigger difference, personally, I wouldn't use an Ardent again, I didnt like it very much, but maybe something like a Rekon front and rear, or Rekon front Rekon Race rear could be a decent "XC" setup
  9. I cant have one, so no, they shouldnt be on the mountain.....🤣
  10. Anybody have some FOX Float EVOL air volume spacers?
  11. Cant even hold 1 x beer bottle.....
  12. 2 x water bottles? That bike cant even take 1 x water bottle as it stands there
  13. Sadly there is not much merch available, I got a riding shirt and socks from Trailwolf, but that is about all that is available, any bike shop that sells Pyga should be able to get you what is available
  14. This was my other option, I just have a set of 700c rims, so wanted to use what I have...
  15. Thought as much, but always worth asking
  16. Hey guys, I am pretty sure I know what the answer to this question is going to be, but I want to ask just to be sure.... I have an old 26" mtb frame that I have converted into a MX bike, but I would like to try fit fatter rubber on it, but the braces on the seat stays and chain stays limit it quite a lot, would removing them be a really bad idea? I see lots of newer gravel bikes that dont have those braces in place, but maybe their construction is different to this old frame? What would be your suggestion? Pics of the mentioned braces....
  17. Yoh, I get parafin MUCH cheaper than that, like under R10 a litre last time I bought
  18. You will have some other costs to pay when it lands at customs, vat and a handling fee from DHL I think I just brought in some handlebars, initial cost with shipping was just under R2k, after they landed had to pay R460 for customs and the service fee
  19. I haven't been out for a long while, but I often used to see groups starting at both Sasol on AG DeWit and Sasol on Riley road, I think they set off at either 04:30 or 05:00
  20. If you like thin grips, maybe look at Rapide grips, they are pretty thin, and fairly cheap https://www.rapide.co.za/product/rapide-isolator-lock-on-grips/
  21. So then why damn the bike shop for recommending parafin if there is actually nothing wrong with using it?
  22. Can you please explain why using parafin is wrong?
  23. Cant seem to find any of those items actually for sale on the website anyway, so not much of a help....
  24. Can anybody say if this is a legit shop? Prices seem WAY to good to be true.... https://www.vbike.co.za/
