  1. Thanks for that droo, I have ordered some of that tape from takealot, wont be using the Ryder tape for the wheels, it can be repurposed elsewhere
  2. That is what I got, just 31mm wide, but it is pretty much just duct tape , I have just read that because duct tape, insulation tape etc are somewhat elastic, it doesnt last long because it stretches through the spoke holes and then pops? Gorilla tape doesnt do that but leaves a horrible manky residue on the rim when you take it off.
  3. Reviving this thread instead of making a new one Does anyone have experience using this rimtape? Is it decent quality? I bought some Ryder tubeless tape, but it is just duct tape, and I see all over the place that duct tape is no good for tubeless.... Check this out on takealot: Tubeless Rim Tape 30mm x 66m https://www.takealot.com/tubeless-rim-tape-30mm-x-66m/PLID72897105
  4. Bontrager also have inner soles, 3 different supports
  5. Read the article I posted above, Long offset makes the bike steer quicker, short offsets make it more stable Yes, longer offset will increase the wheelbase, but it decreases the trail, which has a greater effect on the steering than the wheelbase does
  6. So the longer offset made it steer slowly? Funny, that is exactly the opposite of what every article I have read says when they test different offsets...
  7. I really doubt she or you for that matter will notice much of a difference, my bike had a 44 offset fork and I replaced it with a 51mm offset, albeit 10mm more travel, and I really didnt notice much of a change in handling, the actual fork upgrade made a MUCH bigger difference, I would just put the 51 offset on, and if/when you can and budget allows, then get the 44 offset, that is what I am doing https://www.bikeradar.com/features/pushing-the-limits-of-fork-offset-an-experiment/
  8. I think it is more a case of the bladder warranty, I see Hydrapak also has a "beyond lifetime warranty" whatever that means, but Camelbak has a great track record with replacing broken bladders
  9. I have one for you, well at least I tjink I do, wil check tonight, PM me your number
  10. Is it a 9 speed derailleur?
  11. Agreed, Wolwespruits signage is horrendous, it is my favourite place to ride, so I now know most of the trails and where I should/shouldn't/can/can't go, but at least the first 3 or 4 times I went, sheesh, I got lost so bad, and MANY people I speak to have the same happen, they really could out more effort into the signage, all the trails cross each other so many times it can easily get confusing, and it isn't like there aren't enough people using the trails that there isn't money to update/upgrade the signage.....
  12. I used to ride with an USWE pack, 2lt bladder, and some extra packing space for bars, small jacket or tools etc, now I ride with the Camelback Repack, I wont go back to the "backpack" style, it is comfy, takes 1.5lt bladder, 2 pockets for tools, bars and a small jacket, can also keep your phone in it if you need to, I like it more than the backpack style because my back doesnt get so hot But if you want a backpack style one, definitely look at the USWE, and even the Leatt packs, that "no more dancing monkey" system really works well
  13. Yoh, sorry to hear about this happening to you, and I wanted to go there this weekend, I cant because my bike is out of commission for the weekend, but still.... I have ridden there a number of times and I have never seen anything like that there, it is sad it can happen though, makes me wonder how long my "luck" will last
  14. Sorry, BaGearA is right, was looking for float DPS spacers, but the bullet and just bought a set, ridiculous that they are not supplied with the shock/bike when you buy it and they charge a fortune for a set, but anyway, it is what it is
  15. Wolwespruit is awesome at the moment and not much further the Big Red Barn Rietvlei Zoo Farm was quite muddy last time is was there, but we have had a couple dry days since then, so it may be good to ride now, but not 100% sure
  16. Cool, thanks. Luckily these dont really have any branding, nice clean looking bars, and are 800mm wide, I would like to get the matching Horizon stem though, that would just make it look so good 👌 Anyway, thread hijack over...
  17. Why did you switch from the Nukeproof bars if you dont mind me asking? I just put Nukeprook Horizon 31.8 carbon bars on both my bikes, CRC has them selling at crazy low prices so I just went for it, 38mm rise on the Enduro sled and 25mm rise on the Trail bike
  18. I heard they will be available end of March, I am also very keen to get one, hopefully they will have 31.8 clamp stems as well as 35
  19. Worldwide Cyclery has a nice video on youtube where they do back to back tests on a bunch of Carbon bars, maybe give that a watch?
  20. I have/had 510 freerider pro, they were nice, but they didnt last that long, I still have them and they can be used, but only in the dry, they have holes in the soles and the sole seems to have started delaminating on the pressure points on the pedals. I now have Leatt DBX 3.0 really enjoying them so far, they grip well, have a nice stiff sole for pedaling, but not so stiff that hike a bike is uncomfortable, I regularly wear them for walking around in while shopping, but you need to be careful when lacing them up, they have no stretch laces, so they have NO give if you do them up tight
  21. The first thing I thought when I saw that route, is that they were taking the piss by making an abstract dinosaur picture
  22. I was at Wolwespruit earlier, the trails are looking really good, I think if there is no rain tonight, it is going to be prime for riding tomorrow
  23. Little bit of a shreddy at Wolwespruit
  24. It is a system on some Specialized bikes on the rear shock, pump the shock up basically to max psi, sit on the bike and press a button on the shock, and it basically sets your air pressure to the optimal pressure so you get the correct sag
