  1. Cool idea. or cant we print our own numbers, they save money we save time. So who do we contact? Supercycling?
  2. Petrol is expensive, race entry's are expensive, But getting >2hour off during the day to collect numbers is costing the company lots of money and we cant take half day leave for every race. Cant they arrange for 3 collection points or a tab were you can select were you want to collect numbers? Gman18342009-01-26 12:39:03
  3. I dont mind not getting a race pack, But Please CAN WE COLLECT NUMBERS IN CENTURION AS WELL!!!!
  4. it may be "miracle" powers...... or just the taste that drives me to the line knowing that there will be a recovery drink
  5. The Vooma may taste better but does not give the boost that the Wasp "crazy kiwi" gives. It just put the power back in your legs, had one 20km from the finish,my legs came back i passed guys that dropped me earlier and today my legs arnt a bit sore. Go crazy kiwi
  6. What a race, Lots of wind especially if you stay on the left of the line. I did a lot of pacing in the second half B group. Who was the TB marshal with Pink rims, She was with the B bunch all the way, "Thanks for your patience and keeping us safe"
  7. Very nice wheels, makes me drool....!
  8. B2076 06:50 two groups up from last year
  9. If you are very fit you can push high cadence and let your hart and lungs do the work, but if you are not that fit and rely on leg muscles your legs will feel the pain. As soon as I increased my cadence my speed went up and i could stay with the bunch and my chain and gears lasted longer. I hope this make sense.
  10. I tried the o ring and glue option and after a lot of unplanned dismountings i got the real thing. Maby you have better luck with glue

  14. Took off my chip lastyear for the second lap of the 94.7 but left my number, Had a lot of fun chatting stopping at the water points and going over the line with my wife (priceless). If it is possible I will do a second Argus lap with her.
  15. I would add one of these.
  16. Rims stand on their spokes. and Bicycle prices went up because of the R/$ exchange rate
  17. cool....very cool.
  18. Thanks Edman for adding the third picture, i agree the tension in the bottom spokes will go from a positive (tension) force to zero as soon as it reach zero the spoke will loose contact with the rim but will never go into compresion. If you have a spoke or a ruler on your table please hold it vertical and press from the top what happens (it buckle) now pull it from side to side you need more force to make a difference. Some rims like Ksyriums can actually receive a small (very) compressive force from the spokes since the nipples and spokes (when seized up) are rigidly fixed to the rim. That's neither here nor there, since they still have to work in tension only. It is just the opposite for the ksyrium sl were the nipple is fixed but the hub side will loose contact.
  19. Ok let see. The drawing shows two cases: 1) spoke pulling (tension) the nipple stops the movement tuns inducing a tension force . 2) Pushing on the spoke (no glue between rim and nipple) The nipple moves into the rim noting (except the rimstrip and tube) to restrict the movement thus no compressive force can be induced in the spoke.
  20. We can have a cycle race were we start in Pta at the station cycle to a station in Jhb and take the train back, almost like the Fast One
