  2. and the controvertial Crissy Moran (with clothes on this time) http://www.celebrity-wallpapers.org/bulkupload/crissy-moran/crissy-moran_04.jpg
  3. there is also Moran Atias, http://celebslam.celebuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/moran-atias.jpg
  4. DD, the point is that the petrol heads made a Fruedian sliip, and instead of calling us Morons called us Morans. Now, considering the general gist of their jibs, I think they are either simply illiterate or were actually thinking of the parts that Crissy was known to flash (also considering their general language usage and maturity, they probably would have had the relevant sites bookmarked on their PC's at home).
  5. from wikipedia: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crissy_Moran) Crissy Moran (born December 22, 1975, in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American former pornographic actress. She started her adult film career in 1999, and performed in more than 30 adult movies.[1][2] In 2006 she announced that she had become a Christian and was leaving the adult business.[3][2] Moran states on her MySpace page that she is attempting to have her photos removed from pornographic websites. In 2008, Moran appeared in a short film titled Oversold in which she plays the leading role.[4] She doesn't seem to be doing a good job at it. http://www.freeones.com/html/c_links/Crissy_Moran/ now that is a link for the ladies & nobikes (flesh warning & NSFW) thread.
  6. saddle height, check for seat post slippage. Crank length, what gears are you pushing on the Mtb? Banging knees against rocks also cause pain. Do you rest? Finally consider over training.
  7. the best explination I have heard for calculating crank length is based on some common sense. From basic mathematics regarding levers and also physological reality, you don't want to have to bend your knee more than 90 degrees, and you don't want to place pressure on your knee if you do. So if you consider the diameter of the "circle" which the crank makes, the joints connecting levers in your leg, ie knee, hip and ankle, and the levers, ie foot lower leg and tibua (upper leg) the lever that is most mobile in the pedal stroke is the upper leg (Tibia). THerefore, any change in this bones length should affect your loads on the joints during the pedal stroke. So, if you had to link crank length with any measurement in the body, I would say it is the upperleg (tibia). The rule of thumb is to measure the length of this bone, or from hip socket to knee, divide this length in two, and you should have a ball part figure for crank length.

  9. there are so many people doing that on the hub anyway.
  10. when they are worn....... normally, you will find that chains don't last, even with a new cassette. Run your finger over the teeth of the blades. If they are really rough, ie cuts your finger, then just think what it is doing to your chain. If they are missing some teeth or are bent, then that too is a good sign to replace.
  11. where are you in Cape Town area?
  12. Last time I checked Moran was a porn star. (please don't ask how I know this)KonaFan2009-09-01 03:29:54
  13. Perish the thought - I'm not better than anyone because I have a big car - I'm better than everyone else because I'm an over self opinionated git Here's another thought - I wonder if in a trucking forum' date=' right now, someone is saying this: "those cars really piss me off - I think I'm going to start side swiping them and recording it with a bumper mounted camera"..."yeah those tiny little metal beetlesdon't undestand physics". Don't forget - some days you're the pidgeon - some days you're the statue. [/quote'] I suppose it is only fair to say that one topic of discussion in military tea rooms, is "how cars get crushed by military hardware". seriously, during the "troubles" when the miltary had to move ratels, buffels, rooikats, UNimogs and G6's around, there were a number of motorists that were a bit "arrogant". Unfortunately visibility in a turret is not what it should be, and there were incidents. I know of a number of my mates that did ride over cars that did not obey the rules and regulations of the road. Nothing personal, just did not see it.
  14. road = speed and efficiency mtb= fun and technique Road mentality: slow = leave behind mtb mentality: will I need it to fix the bike, find myself, get out of trouble, have more fun, improve technique ext, ext= take along.
  15. It is nice of them to at least warn us that they are fishing. Where are all the roadies who have to fight them for road? Where are the hubbers that cannot take a joke? (especially a sick one like this?) To what extent are they accurate and what extent are they only embellishing on our behaviour on the road? We should maybe reflect on what is being said here. For every guy that is out to have fun at our expense there are two that actually think that what they are saying is 100% on target. I have had to listen to guys that think that a little irritation is just cause for murder, mallicious damage to property and assault. I have had to handle people that believe that because you disagree with them on a technical point, that you actually HATE them. There are some very weird and strange people out there.
  16. another reason that mtbking is becoming more popular, and commuting to work includes a bit of pavement hopping
  17. It is not cool to think about style. The very idea that you are worried about what others think about you, shows that you are not really at peace with yourself. Wear black socks and a camelback if you want to. (although the camelback will be detrimental to your performance, and that is why so few wear them on road bikes). Remember, everything on a mtb is about functionality and survival. Every thing on a road bike is about performance and speed. So ask, will the Garmin make me go faster? if not leave it behind.
  18. What happened to you? Once a roadie.....you lead us up the hills of Pretoria riding abreast and showing fingers to all concerned. Now you have become a sour basher of all cycling on tar. It is getting a bit tedious...... Shame man. Maybe you should consider moving to Cape Town.....at least there you'll have the mountain to keep your attention...... Spidy, I take it that you have either lost your sense of humour, or are completely blind. How many times must I paste this icon after a statement to indicate that I am pulling your leg?
  19. sounds interesting. Maybe get the motorcyclists involved. They are definitely more organised than the cyclists. THINKBIKE has been building capacity in this area. I feel the only skill that roadies can provide is riding abreast and showing the middle finger.
  20. remind me again why I don't ride on the road anymore...........
  21. Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. C. S. Lewis
  22. brillant idea. In these financial times, w don't need to be tempted. Also it is hectic organsing group rides betweenall the commercial activity.
  23. cycle every day (only new kiddo keeping me off the bike). Shower at work Staff thought I was mad, until they realised that I get to work faster on the bike (traffic). Get begrudged respek for being so tough. Runners at work feel inferior, that they have to train only once they have got through the traffic.
