  1. At last, I managed to share a pic: Spyderco Gayle Bradlee folder, 87mm blade. http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag294/dilbertZA/Mobile%20Uploads/20140819_133716-1_zpswxdax4ro.jpg
  2. Great example for a role model, right there.
  3. EBH, Ciolek and Gerdeman all had great results at Team Highroad. I suspect they had a good supplements program going there, because almost all their riders were less impressive when they left - Cavendish and Renshaw too.
  4. Ajmal totally banned from bowling. http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/current/story/779257.html I wonder if it is a coincidence that this happened just before the Aussie tour.
  5. Nice, big win for SA! Our bowling unit clicked, led by Steyn. Top 4 got the runs easily - Faf and AB superb again. First time ever we beat Aus in any form of ODI final.
  6. I dont understand Parnell's promotion, up the order, or how he went about the execution. I hope it does not lead to disaster.
  7. If Faf was a cyclist, I would wonder what new form of doping he is using - average of about 30 after 50 innings, now suddenly lining up 100 after 100! Jokes aside, I have always liked him as a player since his breakthroug season in IPL as a sub for the injured Hussey. Imo the selectors had a bit of a brain fart with the team today. Parnell is can not be depended on to defend 12 runs bowling at the death, or to score 12 runs off the last over to win a game. Robin Peterson would have been a better option on this tour. Also, based on performance to date, it was unfair to drop Tahir to include another batsmen. It would have been more logical to drop Steyn or Morkel. Also, I wonder if Phangiso got the nod ahead of Tahir based on criteria other than merrit.
  8. What business is it of hubbers what companies name themselves? (there is a shop in Pretoria East called "The Hub" btw. Perhaps a better crusade for hubbers so inclined to take on?) If there is a dispute, it would be between the dark horses to settle, no?
  9. Not necessarily, but not history have shown that all doping programs are not equal. (US Postal...)
  10. Sky were far ahead of the other teams in terms of stage race performance in 2012 and 2013 Imo it is possible that the other teams have caught up, and some have now passed them. I am not pointing at dope, it may have been something used that was not banned, but that the other teams were not using/not aware of. For example, the banning of Xenon and Argon gas may be one of the factors having an impact now.
  11. Has anybody tried Nespresso Cubania limited pods? They are specified at an intensity of 13, which should be quite strong. http://pavelboyman.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/screen-shot-2014-07-15-at-17-29-41.png?w=474&h=400
  12. That said, our death bowling is what cost us this match, and the bench looks empty in that regard. Perhaps De Lange?
  13. Our middle order batting has lots of potential, but is weak under pressure. JP, Miller & McLaren. How about: Russouw, JP, Philander?
  14. Well played Zim! Hugely underrated, it seems.
  15. My favourite folder is a Spyderco Gayle Bradley. I also have a few others I inherited from my dad - Puma & Victorinox etc. (Too bad I dont have a "post pic button" in Android) Everyday companion is a Leatherman Skeletool CX
  16. I have a 5 led red Cateye - used it for 4 years, no hassles. Superb product. On the random flash setting I used most, batteries lasted very very well. I think it is now called a "Rapid 5"
  17. Zim beat Pakistan (then ranked #3) on this same ground about a year ago. Imo they deserve more respect than a lot of SA fans give them. They played well, and would have given most teams a good fight. The pitch was a dead turner like in SL, which negated our pace battery to some extent - it took Philander out of the game completely. Piedt was an excellent find. We need to find another spinner, because all countries will use these type of pitches against us, if they can. Dont play Philander on such pitches - play the extra spinner. JPD is not an all-rounder. Alviro has to go.
  18. I'm exploring the mtb routes around the resort, but the ones I have found so far is shortish. Are there hubbers that can recommend routes for long rides?
  19. The Geoges valley road is relatively quiet, it did not have a lot of traffic on when I last rode it. I would advise to keep the speed in check on a TT bike, you could get up to 60 to 70 km/h, which can be dangerous down a twisty mountain pass, in the drops. Both the Agatha and Magoebas climbs will be extremely tough on a TT bike, especially if you have a 42 small chainring - you will need a 39x25 if you are a decent climber. The pass is one of the very few in SA that has a gradient that can be compared to Alpine climbs.
  20. 1. Weight is weight, no matter where. Bike, wheels, body - bicycles accelerate soooooo slowly, that inertia almost does not count. Anything else is marketing BS. ( To bring some science into it, but this my perhaps not be a good thing. ) 2. Uphill, lighter is faster, for the same power. On a downhill, the opposite is true if all else is equal. 3. If I get my 11 kg dual to the top 10 or 20 seconds slower than a guy on a hardtail, I may catch up on the downhill, depending how rough it is. Kulharvey won the XC at the Olympics in a dual. Im pretty sure his bike was heavier than a lot of hardtails. 4. Heavier wheels use less energy on flat roads than light wheels - it is called the flywheel effect. The question should be "How much faster will these light wheels go on the hills, AND how much slower will they go on the flat parts.
  21. The pass is on the same road as the hotel. But rather start out the other way: Take the R71 to Haenertsburg, turn left onto the George's Valley road.(R528) to Tzaneen. You can then take the R36 over the dam and then the R71 back to the hotel via the pass, or take the R36 into town and turn right onto the Agatha road, and do a loop up to the Agatha hills as well. That should give about 5 hours, depending on how fast you go.
  22. My post isolation best team: Smith Kirsten Kallis Amla AB De Kock (crystal ball says he is going to be our best keeper batsmen ever, not counting AB) Faf (the wall) Pollock (all rounder) Dale Steyn AD Bret Schultz We have not yet produced a world class spinner, and the West indies ruled cricket with pace bowlers. Imo Faf has done enough to feature - but perhaps his position should be swaped with Kallis, to allow Kallis to bowl more.
  23. +1 for the Rocky. Brakes and fork alone are almost R10k if you buy them seperately. The waranty backup on Momsen is poor, 3 different friends have had problems.
  24. This is THE **** I wish I did not see it. That just about spoiled all other road bikes, forever.
  25. Kallis retires from international cricket: http://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Proteas/Kallis-retires-from-international-stage-20140730 Legend. Edit: damn, I was the slowest to post
