  1. Definitely Shimano feels miles better, I only got the SRAM as it was on sale If the derailleur and shifter go, then I would look at SLX or XT 12 speed
  2. XX1 bolt kit is 430 ish rand... deore derailleur is about 1000 I guess you may have a point, but they spec the derailleur with low strength loctite on the mounting bolt, so it must do something, otherwise SRAM are just throwing money away
  3. Surely you can use red loctite to get around that, or buy the comparitively cheap xx1 bolt kit? Also any chance you could send pics of the can fix, as it will be a useful thing to know if I ever need it in future
  4. Thanks Super Sywurm, most people look down on NX or SX drivetrains, as they have been branded 'low quality' by people who buy them and then don't know how to set them up. I run NX derailleur and shifter on my Slakline and it shifts beautifully. No complaints. (and this is going from having extensively ridden gx and xt) In my opinion, there is nothing at all wrong with NX if you set it up well, I have only had it for a short while, so can't comment on long term performance but my friends who have had it for a while have had no problems.
  5. Sounds like SLX it is... cheaper and more reliable - pity it is not all black though, as I will lose some of the stealth look on my bike
  6. Hey hubbers, my GX cassette is needing to be replaced soon and I am looking at the SLX cassette, simply for the fact that it is cheap and has a 510% gear range. Even factoring in the new freehub body, it would still be cheaper than a new GX cassette. My main question is which cassette lasts longer, is higher quality and what would you recommend?
  7. Not sure what it is worth but I definitely think you will recoup your money you spend if you decide to get it repaired. It will be extremely hard to sell a cracked frame - and the only people wanting to buy it will offer you pennies, as they are likely carbon places who want to repair it and sell it on. It will be a lot easier to sell the frame once it is repaired, however, people may still be slightly more hesitant to buy it, when compared to one that was not involved in an accident. At the end of the day it is your choice, but whatever you choose, good luck with the sale and I hope this helped a bit
  8. Hey guys, I saw this lovely porsche for sale here, I have always wanted an orange gt3 but thought they were a bit pricy (until now). For 3 grand this seems a bargain I just wonder what the 0-100 km/h time is and how fast it is?
  9. I got round this problem by screenshotting them and then posting them, they were literally 1/10th the size after that Also how have your experiences with the mt5s been? I have heard they are a pain to bleed and I have seen quite a few of the levers develop leaks, hopefully your set doesn't give you any trouble
  10. I agree with Droo here, every experience/feedback on them I have heard is that they are solid. Also not much to go wrong with a rain jacket... pretty simple thing to make IMHO So yeah, I reckon make the purchase
  11. Haha I knew someone would ask, the formula cura brakes don't have a banjo fitting and when I routed it through the chainstay, the angle the cable had to bend was too sharp, so it was putting a lot of strain on the mounting point at the caliper and the cable was rubbing really badly where it exits the chainstay. Hope that helps
  12. Sorry for the wait guys, but here she is fully built up: Also a lot of people think it is easy to build a bike and while it is not hard, you will more likely than not spend countless hours trying to decide on parts and the smallest things end up taking the most time haha
  13. As promised... here is the bike fully built up in all it's glory
  14. For me personally, I love how clean bars look with no dropper or shift cables but... charging the batteries is putting me off. I just want to hop on my bike and go for a lekker ride, I don't want to have to wait to charge things - and being the forgetful person I occasionally am - I would forget to put the batteries back in the dropper and derailleur haha Also to me the feel of axs is 'dead', I like the defined click and feel of cable shifting. Plus cable shifting is easy to work on, cheap and I won't be bummed when I smash a derailleur off
  15. That's actually a great tip, thanks Hairy! I will certainly use that next time I am commuting when it is cold
  16. Yep, round here in Tokai/Constantia your hands get COLD especially in the Greenbelt. I have ridden there recently and could not feel the hands and feet for a few minutes afterwards haha
  17. Thanks Maj, dealing with you was a pleasure! Very keen to ride it when it is all done; and hopefully I will see you on the trails someday
  18. Thanks Bob, I appreciate the offer and may well take you up on it haha This is an upgrade I wanna do in the near future, I have heard only good things...
  19. Coming in a few minutes...
  20. Thanks so much Justin! I think the carbon seatstays contrast so well with the aluminium and makes it super eye-catching. Also please can we have pictures of your hardtail, it sounds like a beauty
  21. That is one of the reasons that I love my frame, it has both raw alu and raw carbon which looks so rad
  22. Thanks, super stoked to be part of the PYGA family! They are beautiful bikes and certainly are eye-catchers (especially when the frame is raw!)
  23. Thanks bru but I have luckily figured it out, feel free to scroll up to view the image of the build so far
  24. Thanks Fred! I am also super keen (if not a bit impatient lol) to finish the build and see how it turns out. I was also wondering how progressive the rear suspension is, as I am a very light guy and my rear shock has a few tokens in it, which I think I might need to remove.
