  1. Yeah the seat stays are indeed carbon, my favourite part! The insignia is actually custom stickers - the coloir changes depending on where you look at them (metallic purple to metallic blue to metallic green) Also it has hyrax stickers but is actually a slakline now haha
  2. Here is my build in progress (pictures to follow when it is done): The specs: - NX derailleur - NX shifter - NX cranks - GX cassette - RockShox Lyrik Ultimate - Rockshox super deluxe - formula cura brakes - Lyne AMP V2 HE wheels - Spank oozy bars - Spank spike stem - Spank spike 30 grips - X fusion manic dropper - Cane Creek headset Probably forgetten something but here is what I can remember off the top of my head haha
  3. Here you go: (Lyne wheels and formula cura brakes aren't pictured here)
  4. Haha I figured it out now but thanks
  5. Haha yeah I tried to but the picture exceeds the 4mb limit, anyone know a workaround?
  6. I have made a few recently, a PYGA slakline frame, a lyrik ultimate, formula cura brakes and Lyne AMP V2 HE edition wheelset.
  7. Hey Matt, that is some really sound advice, but he does have an account/a friend with an account, as he viewed my number to whatsapp me
  8. Wow what a coincidence, he also messaged me. I was trying to respond and my phone started spazzing and it blocked him haha I am not superstitious or anything but maybe there really is a higher power looking over me lol
  9. Yip. I am currently leaning towards the G2 RS
  10. Well I do ride 650B haha...
  11. Yeah to a point... I had shimanos and were able to ride fine with them, just prefer Sram. But again parts for shimano is irritating Also thanks for your involvement in this thread and I guess to each their own..
  12. Ok shot bru, I don't like how shimano is all or nothing... Not very good for slow techy descents IMHO
  13. They might, but shi(t)mano spares are impossible to get and they have zero modulation
  14. Thanks bru, just wondering if there is a power difference between them or not really?
  15. Howzit everyone, I am wondering which of the two brakes you think is better. I define better as the best value, power and feel. I have heard that the G2 is a lot better from some people and others have said they noticed little to no difference. I am really curious to hear your thoughts and opinions on the two brakes - currently leaning towards the G2, as it has slightly more power and is newer, but definitely open to options.
  16. Pretty sure the Ruyteplaats route that Jewbacca is talking about (if we are thinking of the same one) is offorad, so if you have a road bike, you will have to carry it a few hundred meters till you get back to the road.
  17. I am no expert, but have used firearms quite a few times. To aim and hit your target as opposed to sending off stray shots that are likely to hit some random person will take a few seconds. In which case the scollie who was already prepared has shot you. Also how many people would actually be able to live with the conscience that they killed a man? I hate these scumbag pieces of sh*t as much, if not more than the next guy. But seriously I would not be able to live the next however many years with the thought that I shot someone. The police will accuse you of being racist, killing for no reason and the list goes on... most of the time when something like this happens they will not be on the side of the oke riding a flashy bike. Just my opinion and I am no expert on firearms by any means haha
  18. The only problem I have with the whole gun thing is that thieves may start to assume all/the majority of us carry guns. It will go from pushing someone off their bike or hitting them with a branch or whatever to just shooting them outright, as they don't want the risk of being shot themselves. I don't know if that will ever happen, but it is just what I fear will happen.
  19. Personally, ny favourite features are techy stuff that really shows if you can ride a bike and flowy trails that require no pedalling, only pumping to get tons of speed and have fun
  20. I second all of this. The sensitivity is amazing (especially when you are light like me) and is hard to match with an air shock (megneg feels like a coil...) Coils also have less to go wrong and mechanically are more simple. Also OP, good luck with the hunt and pics when you have got it please!
  21. Yeah I know about progressive springs, but I have heard bad things about them... Also I do agree with the tuning part, but an air shock is just that bit more tunable, and I love that. But I do know it makes your bike less playful than an air shock. Due to the extra weight and less progression The coil itself definitely does weigh a fair bit, and a coil shock weighs noticeable more than an air shock. But not trying to steer him away from the coil, just giving him some advice and pointers. I love coil shocks for the sensitivity, simplicity, looks and feel. But currently air just makes more sense for how I ride.
  22. Like everyone here said, make sure your leverage ratio and progressivity will suit a coil. Also bear in mind that a coil is a lot heavier, may not have a lockout and makes the bike more planted. If you enjoy jumping (like me) then a coil may not be right for you, as it robs the bike of poppyness and makes the rear end feel more 'dead'. Remember that a coil feels nice, but a high end air shock that is setup nicely can have almost the same small bump, but better progressivity and more 'pop'. Finding the right spring rate is CRUCIAL. Do not settle for the wrong spring rate, as the shock will feel awful and there is almost nothing you can do to change that. Lastly, if you enjoy tuning your bike then you may not like a coil, as with air you can use spacers, different air cans, different pressures etc. Lots of tuning options for everyone.
  23. First off, what bike is it for and what shock measurements do you require? There are MANY different shock strokes and ways of mounting them. The question is at the moment a little broad, but I can help you if you narrow it down.
  24. I agree with this, but sometimes the cable is not long enough to pull the dropper up higher or the seatpost clamp bolt is damaged (more common than you may think). So in an ideal world, this is what I would do, however sometimes time is of the essence and you need to get something done fast.
  25. Haha thanks for stepping in. Like I earlier stated I know pretty much niks about road
