  1. Completely unbiased of course!
  2. Since the launch of the Varia Rearview Radar, Garmin have grown their smart cycling device range and the degree of integration of each device. As a standalone, the rear view Radar is a smart rear bike light that improves your visibility, situational awareness and safety with adaptive brightness and a radar display. Garmin did not stop there and have built a complete eco-system with the addition of the Varia Vision and a headlight and tail light that communicate with the Varia system. I've always figured Dani to be a solid wingman, but never one of the greats to be. He has however gone on record to say that when it came to pre-season chassis selection the team went with the one that favoured MM and have since developed it further and further away from his liking. How much truth there is in that I do not know.

Yes and yes, but not just talking about Silverstone. Have a look at his results this year in mixed conditions. Terrible.

Feeling less and less love for JL as each mixed conditions practise session or race goes by. Not that I've ever been a massive fan, but I reckon to be considered one of the greats a rider needs to show skills above and beyond slamming in lap times in ideal conditions when out front.
  12. Maxxis have 2.3 tires optimised for 35mm internal width https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/previews/first-look-friday-rocky-mountain-trailhead-maxxis-tyres-cadence-bar-ryder-sealant-r4773
  13. Would also be easy to enough to pop around to Mercer to have him install one of these
  14. So it's true what they say, there really is a Duohorn at the end of a rainbow.
  15. To be fair to the reviewer it does say "First Ride" and "Three days with a whole new drivetrain does not equal a full review in our eyes." To understand and really feel the impact of that jump you need to ride seriously varying terrain. If the terrain is very steep the jump may not feel that big as chances are the terrain requires it. Unless you're very fit and / or strong. Maybe even not. If you're unfit and or tired the 50T will be heaven regardless of how big the jump is. Then again if the terrain is less steep and you only need or want a bit of a break for your legs then the jump may feel big. So it depends. On you, on me, on the terrain, on the time of day even.

  17. SRAM introduced the first ever 12 speed mountain bike groupsets in March with the announcement of their Eagle XX1 and X01 drivetrains. While the Eagle X01 drivetrain is suitable for all riding styles up to and including Enduro racing, the Eagle XX1 is geared towards cross-country with the use of light weight materials. 19. New Eagle tech video just went live
  20. You could, yes. There is an aftermarket jimmy product, but it doesn't look neat. There are other ways to do this, but it will void warranty. Having just ridden the Pyga Stage and Stage Max I would say they are great options.
  21. It seems to be, but there is no truth in it. No question. There was debate on the James Reid bike check thread, but it's one guy who has been going around bashing all bikes in favour of the Silverback Sesta. (Which is a great bike, but bashing something just cause you have a favourite is a bit silly)
  22. So an oke trains, races his ass off and gets to do what he loves. What we love. He does it so well that he gets to go to the Ofreakinglympics. As a token of their appreciation the sponsors and / or manufacturer goes to the effort to get him a custom paint job in his country's colors (or one that changes colors!) Instead of us going - Leka saffa - holy ****, well done for going - We are proud of you making it there - make us proud - lekker to see a youngster make it there lets wish him many years of great racing. On the flip side Giant / Kargo all the other sponsors put themselves out there in order to support the sport of ours, help it grow, FIND THE NEXT OLYMPIAN with maybe one day a medal and then a top step to follow. We rather bash, comment, cyber bully and be stupid about things. When did we as people become so feeble minded that we can't see the good in something and just wish everyone the best for achieving what they have achieved? What will you and I be doing this weekend when that guy is representing his country at the Ofreakinglympics? Crit is fine, but if it's all you can get out then maybe listen to your Dad's advice and rather say nothing at all. EDIT: Why not rather use this a message board for your support of him and our team? Something that can actually be sent to him and he'll know that **** everyone, Hubbers I've got the support of hubbers.
