  1. The guy is off to the Olympics and here we are being silly about silly stuff! Great to have saffas there and I'm sure in 2020 we will have more riders representing. Best of luck James, bike looks mint and I'm sure you'll go like stink.
  2. If you will be riding trails more often than on the beach then this is the one to get. The extra width of fat tyres does help in thick, dry sand, but at very low pressures the plus pedals along just fine. On trails plus is much better than a fat bike as its easier to pedal and is more agile.
  3. I reckon so and with the the added cush of the plus tires it would make riding a rigid bike more forgiving and rewarding.
  4. You have to be able to go at least 85mph to be able to travel back in time!
  5. You mean the "Ride From Now Until Late 2017-ish MTB Challenge Stage Race"? My request is pending too, will let you know how it goes!
  6. The Sphere 1 is Silverback's reimagination of the hardtail with plus sized wheels. It features 3.0" tyres to add grip, stability, and comfort. The extra small and small bike sizes use 27.5 x 3.0” tyres, whereas the medium, large and extra large bikes are fitted with bigger 29 x 3.0” tyres. There are two models available in the range with the Sphere 1 pitched as more performance driven bike of the two, with shorter chainstays and high end aluminium tubing, while the Sphere 2 has a slightly more stable geometry for increased traction and balance for entry level riders. 7. That I know, yes. Small changes though and nothing like Fox doing away with a 3-position dropper and several other key design changes. Point is not to compare the 2, though. I still think it would be useful to get some feedback from riders to them. For those who mentioned KS: I have a LEV on another bike and by comparison its needed endless TLC to the point where I would rather not get another one. It's on its way in for a service now and I'll see how it goes when it comes back.
  8. So, let's come some Bike Hub feedback to Rockshox. Tell us - Year model - how long have you had it - first issues experienced - how long into owning it did you experience the first issues - roughly how many k's did it have on it at that stage - was it serviced as required - what repairs were done to solve the issue - any other / further issues experienced - In total how long have you owned it and how many km's has it done Nothing beats real-life rider feedback to improve on a product.

  10. DOSS has been replaced by the new Transfer and have done away with the clunky remote.
  11. Exactly what that image is. The Landy broke down in the middle of nowhere and instead of fixing it the driver first take some pics. Having stripped her moer (this is the 3rd breakdown after all, the beautiful young lady decides to get out only to discover she has to go over the side as the door won't open. The driver strips his moer cause now you can't see the landy all that well in the pic. (Also: The BFG's are suffering from chipping and chunking on account of being quite sheet)
  12. First Look Friday is an introduction to the gear that we are currently testing for review. This week we're featuring Garmin's Varia Smart Bike ecosystem. Click here to view the article
  13. It's hard to imagine that not too long ago dropper posts where an oddity found only on custom builds and made by only a handful of manufacturers. Even though the benefits were clear, the early samples were unreliable, short on drop and needed lots and lots of care. Click here to view the article
  14. So who will be riding and for which alumni?
  15. Each to his own, but not sure what you are refering to re the geo as it's in-line with the Specialized Epic, Silverback Sesta and the likes.
  16. That's the correct answer.
  17. Hehe! Like Droo said I would rather have it looked at than try to solve what you mentioned in the Pike review thread with Brunox. Every single time I jumped on a Pike equipped bike (including brand new forks) they felt plush. There's always a bit of tweaking needed, but never felt not smooth - if that makes sense. Brunox seems to work, but I'm not sure how much of that is down to the product and how much of it is down to regular proper cleaning. I have been using Brunox on one stanchion of my DVO and THIS on the other and will be able to report back when it goes for it's 12 month service. To be honest though, with the amount of review bikes ridden over the last couple of months my own ride does not see the same amount of action a usual ride will. So it's difficult to say for sure.
  18. Last weekend of next year's Tour de France. Book it!
  19. "made it too harsh" Are you referring to the ramp up? Adding an extra token allows you to run less air. - Less air will help with small bump / initial stroke - Token will help with ramp up / bottom out So it sound like you are on the right track. If it's feeling too harsh it could be compression? Unless of course you are refering to bottom out Edit: Sticker is only a rough guide to get you going and most often it's too hard so don't worry too much about that. As a "one size fits all" guide it obviously does not take into account your riding style or terrain. With a new fork I always recommend running extra sag to get it to loosen up and use full travel before resetting it again.
  20. How mean is the tubing on the Neurogen? My internet connection sped up just looking at that bike!
  21. With all the time spend telling people he's vegan where does he still find the time to exercise?!
