  1. I thought this was going to be about a rush of bike on to the second hand market from okes having to sell stuff due to the Covid Lockdown / financial needs.

In the boat and car world there have been people jettesoning kit at some crazy prices to free up cash. I offered guy R35K on a advertised R60K bandit boat and the guy didn't blink... Not that I could actually afford that myself now. Also seen some of the Merc double cabs at massive mark downs. Again, if you had the money now you'd be cleaning up.

  2. They live amongst us... did he continue to exercise in a group while waiting for his results?

Hope he makes it through okay..but his actions were extremely recless..hope he has notified everyone he has been in contact with on these group rides.

I'm not sure, I just got information from his wife when I was sorting out something for him. It seems as if it's all swung into action about contacting those who have been in close contact with and isolating but I doubt there is much contact tracing that can be done for the hundreds of people he rode past huffing and puffing while berating the 'police state' and 'making a stand' for his rights. Unfortunately he is that kind of guy and he's not the only one by any means.

  3. The Worst Face Mask:

The ones with massive smiles printed on the front.

    Good grief

    This is exceptionally bad..

  4. No, Im also wondering how legit they are. If I do buy its going to be around R1000, so Im a bit weary until I can get more info.

Just got this back from the guys.

  5. and less dog sh i t. Not for nothing they are called the mink and manure set.

I was down that way as well this morning and one of my hounds took his usual dump and as I was getting a bag out these two ladies with a couple of ridgebacks came around the corner and said 'don't worry just leave it, no one is looking'. Had to chirp back that 'wasn't the point, what about the kids running about, the cyclists and everyone else there. It's about good manners, just like wearing a mask'... They weren't wearing a mask.    :whistling:

  6. Looking at these, they seem very comfy and I also like the adjustable straps.

I wear dust mask all the time "mining environment", so any mask with the "vent" on the side makes it just so much easier specially on hot days.

Have you bought from them? Did like the look of those ones but the site looks a bit dodgy and there is not contact deets apart form the email / contact form.

  7. Define filter?

It's a 3 layer mask, the inner layer is a washable filter. Just because it is removable and perishes, doesn't make it more effective.

So it has a filter? By the looks of your post you're saying it is a 3 layer mask with a washable filter that perishes and doesn't make it more effective.

I'd like to able to get a 3 layer mask with the ability to use a 5 layers NP25 filter and had a breathable valve (or two).  Revised due to a recent article.

  8. Does anyone have a decent list of people with masks that are more suitable for exercise and have good protection could be pinned and updated? I'd love a Respro one line Wiggle / CRC sell but god knows when that would arrive.

  9. We got some pretty decent ones at work. They fit over your head instead of over the ears, much more comfortable. Shape is also anatomical, so it fits snugly over the chin and nose. And they have replaceable filters, which makes sense.

    Where from?

  10. I have the Sexy socks one and they are pretty average. Don't fit well and very stuffy.

This should be a bigger thing right now as we all legally have to wear them and I'm struggling to find some decent ones. Sure there are a lot about but not much that fits well.... I'm looking for ninja style!

  11. The greenbelt is CoCT and not part of sanparks or tmnp. Reserves that would be closed would be

    FALSE Bay coastal reserve

    table Mountain national Park

    kirstenbosch botanical Gardens

    Cape Nature facilities.

Silver mine and tokai are tmnp and therfore sanparks. So out of bounds.

Green belts are fine. Unless CoCT specifically says its closed.

    haven't seen that yet

Green Belts open but the grass at seapoint prom' grass is out of bounds.... but that is waaaaay out of my 5km ring.

I was confused as there was much coverage about city parks and public spaces would be shut etc

  12. Just received this...

"Hi Ben, thanks for your query.

    Sadly Table Mountain, as well as the beaches amongst various other facilities, will remain closed during level 4 lockdown. The word came from the top so it’s simply out of Sanparks’ hands. Other places that may provide some interim relief for your legs include the greenbelts and a few other spots around Cape Town namely;

“...public thoroughfares across the city will be open for those residents who want to run, jog, cycle or walk within a 5 km radius from their homes between 06:00 and 09:00.

    These include spaces such as:
    • Sea Point promenade (the paved area, and not the grass, or play area)
    • Muizenberg to St James walkway
    • Strand promenade
    • Willis Walk in Simon’s Town
    • Kommetjie walkway to lighthouse
    • Government Avenue next to the Company’s Garden; and
    • all other publicly accessible boardwalks or pathways

We have posted this info to Facebook and twitter and will continue to keep the public up to date with any developments. - https://bit.ly/2WiLl6q"

    Now I'm confused.
  14. According to a recently shared spreadsheet, my closest Checkers has just been shut 'cos of a positive test result.

Fook.  Where was it, Plumsted? I'm suprised Constantia hasn't been hot spot as it's full of oldies,  euro - swallows and people who defiantly DGAF about others! Just for this example I live in Graylands...

  15. I bought silicon bath sealant from Checkers Muizenberg on Monday..... Just saying

Checkers has been hilarious. They haven't stopped selling anything really. Went to Blue Route last week and got some electronic kit, hot wheels and toys for the kids, dogs toys, a potjie, pool salt and you could buy basically anything apart from clothes. Even in Constantia the PnP has loads of areas roped off while at the checkers is all up for grabs.

  16. Honestly, with how busy the green belts are likely to be on those mornings, I think I'll stick to the indoors for a bit longer so I can actually go at times that are ACTUALLY quiet

Was thinking exactly the same myself. The pooches need a walk before they mutiny but that can be done far from the madding crowd.

Is the forest where the ribbon memorial is down the the river / greenbelt also SanParks aka closed?
