  1. Mooning = magic
  2. Whoop whoop 🎉🎉 Who's the lucky winner?
  3. Oh? That's good news. I must go look see then how to sync them
  4. If you're on vitality, save up another 1000 ronts and get a Garmin 530 computer + every monitor you'll need (cadence, speed and hrm). Or get a Lezyne for around 3000 ronts and a hrm for about 800 more. I went the watch route first. It's a great tool, but painful to look at/read/understand when your bumbling along a tech section or belting down your favourite fast downhill and you're needing both hands on the bars. I now have both and the watch is exactly that... A watch. School fees @Rolf Hansencan you get your Huawei to connect to the strava app?
  5. I have an 11-42 to test if you want to b screw some more
  6. Is anyone else struggling to get their refund from the organisers of this event? My entries were for 2021 and they promised back then a full refund. This morning I received another email saying the 2022 event has also been canceled due to covid (sigh) reasons and promising yet again a full refund. I've asked yet again for the refunds to be done but alas, it seems to be a futile excercise I get the expenses to arrange the event, I get the basic costs involved in the set up. I also get the full refund story, but what I don't get is the promise to for fill the return but it never actually happens. I even tried their social media pages last year, but that got edited rather quickly... Anyone else?
  7. The big smoke throws you pearler days And sometimes you even get to see the good old infrastructure of the land And even more rare, is finding a machine on those funny parallel pieces of straight metal Thanks for the ride today chaps 👊
  8. Lol, thats the truth right there! Thanks for the tips though Jb,
  9. On the contrary Spin, as a country we're actually rather good at recycling. You and I dont recycle. Period. The chaps that trolley up and down your road at 3am in the mornings once a week do. I think the issue here is that the empty product shouldnt be found at the top of a road pass or on the manicured trails. Much the same that you'd be just as bummed to find a Stan's bottle up there anyway - or heavan forbid... a mask! You cant blame the product for some chop disposing of the material in an inappropriate way Laminated plastics today are much easier to recycle as the technology of the proccessing plants have advanced a big jump in recent times. Besides, the trolley guys will be happier with a pouch as they can cram more into the trolleys to get to the recycling plant. Empty bottles just take up space. At the end of the day its a well thought out product offering. Easy, re-usable and simple enough to pop one into your travel tool box anyway. Lets not go down the non-biodegradable road thinking its the recyclables fault
  10. Problem... The xt cage has the spring hole here where the 2 red dots are. The slx spring hole is inline with the longitude of the cage. Its easy enough to drill a new hole I guess, suppose its also easy enough to find new stock somewhere (hint hint, any suggestions to look local?)
  11. Thanks Jewy and Chris. Great info. I'll check it out on the weekend and get back to you with a result
  12. Its simple enough to remove the cages/clutchs, but I'll get stuck with the xt cage to put it back as I dont have the tools to repair the cross thread for the pulley wheel
  13. I have a question for the guru's out there on mtb RD's: I have an XT M8000 (11spd) RD. Now Ive gone and stripped the thread for the guide pulley bolt (top guide wheel). Sure, its easy enough to re-tap the thread, but, I also have a spare cage system from a SLX M7100 (12spd) RD. Now the clutch systems are exactly the same between the deore, slx, xt and xtr systems for the past 3 generations of RD's. I would presume then that the mounting system for the cage's would be the same too? Ive also checked the DM RD004-08 manual vs. the DM-MARD001-02 manaul but I cant see any decent views to see if theyre compatable. Short of me trying to do the swap and actually testing - (which would mean I wont be able to re-assemble the xt cage before it gets repaired.) Are the xt 11spd and slx 12spd cages interchangable? I would also prefer an over sized pulley system anyway Muchas gracias
  14. Yip - google can also give you pointers as to how much bicarb to use. Caution though - its pretty instant in drying so make sure your ducks are in a row Above: Q-bond avaiable in most hardware/autoshops comes with the dark powder you might prefer.
  15. I wouldnt add ink as it will disolve the powder, but any dark dry powder can work. edit: The brand is Q-bond that you're looking for. It comes with the dark colour powder you're needing. The ripoff artists at builders sell it, as do most local hardwares and midas/autozones too
  16. @ sawystertrance - I suspect that the super glue wont hold because of the plastic properties of the glasses frame. A way around it will be to use bicarb of soda as a binding agent when you use superglue (in short, it gives the glue something to hold onto). Caution though, its messy and doesnt always confirm to how you envisage it. But once its dry you can use your wife's emmery board to sand down the offending highspots of glue/bicarb
  17. Hate to break the news to you before you put in the heavy training Steady... But I owe you a beer. I'm buying at the finish on day 1 👍
  18. Directly through the middle of Fourways, bruu 🤣
  19. STeady spin is closer to you then, I'm on the other side of the boerewors curtain from you
  20. You mean the cassette? And where are you based?
  21. Is it not better to type the comment on your own page, then tag him in to the convo - what do they call it here on the hub when you @Red Robin someone? That way he cant delete your posts from his page? Or do I not understand social media correctly? The other issue is that you are all to quick to point out the error of his ways, that gives him a chance to make corrections to his postings to make it seem more legit. I know, I know, saying nothing is probably worse, but if he's the smart arse character that everyone believes he is, then it is a strong probability that he is using this forum to correct the errors on his posts - ie: you dont need to be logged into read this thread. I do suspect that the only way to fix this is literally by mob justice. The local authorities have bigger fish (actually, easier targeted fish) to fry than try to bring this chap to book. Sad, but I also get the feeling that a lot of other crime prevention methods are going this route... #justsayin
  22. Pearler of an arvie in the big smoke
  23. . Sorry, wrong post
  24. Whats the procedures to service the rear der? More specifically the clutch is starting to show signs of non commital wear. When the clutch switch is 'on' the cage is held fast, but it doesnt hold any rearwards tension on the chain. When in the 'off' positon then the cage is free to move forward like it should but it also now gives the rearward tension to keep the chain in place. I guess its time for a new clutch/spring system. Is this possible to replace these or is it easier to bin it and buy a new der?
  25. Yoh, that'll hurt if the welds let go But stupid question: Isnt it easier to just get a new 4 armed crank driver?
