  1. Urgently looking for 11 tooth and 13 tooth gears for an 11 speed m8000 Shimano cassette. Willing to pay of course, in beer or ronts.
  2. Wall mount thingy off to a new home this evening
  3. Then, I have 4 x 29inch tyres to give away - used of course. 2 x Kenda 29 x 2.2 (fast track type tread) - about 60% tread left. No plugs in either tyre 1 x Spez 29 x 2.3 Renegade (control casing) - about 40% tread left. No plugs 1 x Pirelli Scorpion M tyre - only done 1 ride on it of 103km. I had to insert a mushroom plug into the side wall at 90km distance. 99.8% tread left - probably good for another 3000km if you dont mind a mushroon plug in the side wall. PM me for collection arrangements. Im in the northern burbs of jhb
  4. Wall mount bike holder/rack looking for a new home or garage. Fits a 29inch wheel (no... The wheel, tyre, rim, valve, spokes blah blah are not included) Hardly used the darn thing.... Mahala to a good garage or loving home I'm in Northern burbs if you want to collect
  5. Theo, the routes are almost exactly in reverse to the previous winter fast one. Main difference is that you'll cut diagonally from pig farm down to powerlines then down to Heineken factory instead of direct down from pig farm to sun valley road. Powerlines is about 1km due east parallel to the pig farm route. This land has a new owner and doesn't want visitors on his land. (thumbs up to him though, he's cleaning up the very nicely 👍👍)
  6. I think the petion thread is working far more effectively than you think.
  7. The race is in and around Underberg, from what I can see its using some of the Sani trails and a few other privte ones I'd say a post will be a huge advantage...
  8. Yep, me. Still struggling to find a dropper post - which I think will make a big difference to my race. Other than that, I recon it will be a great race
  9. Hard to beat a Joey's morning
  10. Its fine, go in the north gate for access. The fire ruined the southern entrance which is still closed. From what I hear there is still no water top up facilities available, so take your own. Entry is still paid by card only and around 50 beer or cider coupons.
  11. Is your hub correct for a 12sp cassette?
  12. Isn't that for a 12 speed cassette? Hence the 8(1)10 designation? I thought 11 speed is a 8(0)00 type code? Like 8100 is slx 12 speed code, isn't 8110 xt 12 speed?
  13. @TheoG - go to Richard at the Bicycle Workshop in Lambton - he'll have a spacer for you. Chat to him or to Cecil. Whatsapp is best for Richard on Oh8tw0 Niner05 WonWon5Zero
  14. 50, I think the weld points are stronger than we expect - unless it shaddy workmanship. The point where the BB sits is probably the most integral part of the frame as it has to deal with forces from all around, plus a hefty gimp pedalling like crazy on various surfaces. To me it'll be where the material is compromised, like a bend or a reduction in diameter/wall thickness where the material is not supported. An example would be where the chainstay meets up with the seat tube and has to curve around the fat tyres. Another failure point is the top of the seat tube where compression slots are cut out to allow the seat post to be squeezed. I also presume the top tube meeting the seat tube is another issue area as standing up while pedalling and pulling on the bars offers a twist force in the frame which will meet at this point of the junction Carbon frames are slightly different in my book as the loads are distributed in a more thought out fashion (being designed via autocad type programs that offer structural guidance and model dynamics). Yet carbon frames dont like a knock or a bump in places not designed to recieve them and could crack rather easily in places least expected. I'm interested to hear what others in the know can add to your question
  15. The northern burbs still throw pearlers every day
  16. A familiar site to the riders from the south
  17. Hahahahaaa - I had a similar experience - twice in the same day. The first time we crossed paths I greeted the bunch by saying "Morning chaps" then the silence followed. 4km later we crossed paths again. This time I greeted them by saying "Morning Ladies" and 3 beautiful ladies' voices replied in unison "Morning..." Just goes to show, greet the right bunch in the pack and you'll get a great reply 😉
  18. Same same
  19. B'sorah, magic place
  20. If you bubble wrap them nicely and pop them into a box, you can check them in via the 'oversize' luggage department. That's usually where they send the fragile stuff, bikes, golf clubs etc. You might get charged the nominal R270 for oversized but it'll be safe enough. I've had issues sending a boat prop through there though, got told it's dangerous goods as the plane has jet engines instead... 🤦‍♂️
  21. More like a 13mm 1/4" drive to me 😉
