  1. Didier? Or are you a doppelgänger of the brilliant graduate of mine from France?
  2. Thanks mate.
  3. Morne, are you able to advise about the admissibility of importing 50 identical items conforming to those limitations?
  4. Droool, stunning right. Pity that the crank has to be completely stationary for that Pinion C1.12 gearbox to change gears. For the many of us who don’t possess SS-on-the-trails superpowers it must be much less fun on a longer varying-gradient climb. Then again, I ain’t affording one in the early future.
  5. 4 SA spinners bowled 40 overs with the most expensive at an economy rate of just 4.1. Remarkable.
  6. Far nicer outcome than when I asked the German classmate Rudi to ask Ms … if she was a virgin. The eedjut hesitated not at all and her flushed face and tears were instant before she fled the room. Immediate regret on my part. And that’s how the bird-brained Rudi learned what virgin means... PS. Nice piece about your acquaintance Bianca Buitendag on the Vic Bay waves on 208 at the mo.
  7. “Resasi-med” on that EMS vehicle is a weird and novel interpretation of Resuscimed. Strange times. Reminds me of the “shoe reper” sign I saw while travelling, also in the Free State.
  8. If I remember correctly you have the honour of having series number 1? It’s a stunning piece of design and product engineering.
  9. Verstappen in Netherlands? Am looking forward to this spectacle.
  10. Reminiscent of my chirp to the Xhosa stepdaughter who loves soaking up sunrays and also gets paid to model. “Careful darling, you’ll turn black.” Cracked her and her mates up.
  11. On that note, Shoaib Aktar was frequently unkind to his body. I was looking forward to an intriguing test against Pakistan at St George’s Park, as they usually are. To my regret, Aktar pulled out before the first morning. I found out why when the cab driver who was Alviro Petersen’s stepfather, who often was our cabdriver to sports events, told of "relaying" three pairs of sex workers (yes six) and cocaine to Aktar through the night before the test started... Woes!!
  12. Spot on. Pity ‘cos he was exciting, taking loads of wickets, and was still in the process of honing skills. I’d frequently travel to watch cricket (simply can’t afford it these last few years) and I was looking forward to many more years of exploits from him. The cricket academy is right across the road from me (it’s also my local watering hole) and Ngam drops in occasionally, very cool bloke. Vince van der Bijl wrote an excellent piece on him in Business Day last year.
  13. I’ve bought multiple cycling items each time from them on four or five occasions with no issues. Kit's lasted well in heavy rotation in a 6-7 day cycling week and winter kit works a treat on those single-figure-temp night rides, like last night. Delivery has taken 26 to 30 days every time. I’ve only done multiple single-night trips so I can’t wait to read of your adventure.
  14. Good point. Zondeki and Ngam were explosive when they came through and I especially loved watching Ngam live. Tsotsobe, however, has only himself to blame. Extremely undisciplined, lazy, overweight, and unfit. He and his loser friends were only really interested in partying. He bought my mate's nightclub, didn’t have a clue what he was doing, partied and drugged hard, and that endeavour failed as well. No surprise to me that he got an 8 year ban for match-fixing.
  15. While we’re on news media, I remember this little “pilot names” whopper after a passenger aircraft disaster?
  16. Fox done lost its mind...
  17. Stunning to think that a couple of Greg’s competitors that he beat today were just being born in the year that he first won World’s races. Then again, one’s lovemaking “finesse powers” only really start in one’s forties. ????
  18. Minnaar goes TOPS. Absolutely mental how he’s been at the sharp end for so long, even into his 40’s.
  19. I’m guessing you’d find my kids less relaxing. My ex would constantly align even things on my desk and when I was cooking and also the remotes. On one weeks-long visit my then-teen children from CT took great pleasure in repeatedly misaligning the remotes on the coffee table whenever the ex left the room and sure enough, she’d absentmindedly realign them first thing each time she returned. Am figuratively salivating in anticipation of tomorrow’s stage.
  20. Naai issie daai, my broe'.
  21. Mostdef. There have been a few cycle robberies in the blocks near my home, including a former business partner’s father being relieved of his bike just 10 metres from my gate. I’m most vigilant and exit the cycle path (there are loads in my ‘hood) or cross the road away from pedestrians and groups of pedestrians. Perhaps the 360° vigilance is a legacy of many years of running businesses and socialising in my city’s crime-ridden Central area. Before getting back into cycling I liked using public transport/walking and after work I’d regularly first walk the seven blocks to my mate's bar with a backpack of large notes. Alas, those days are long gone. “Speed + vigilance” does the trick.
