  2. You choose the bike the bike whatever you feels the fastest and most comfortable, everybody has that option so its fair game at the end of the day.
  3. You'll miss it when it's gone
  4. I think I read somewhere he is "getting his head straight". Took an "off" year. AfricanX and Epic not what I would say an "off" year
  5. on a MTB??!

  7. Yip. The thing is which makes G-spot so great, is because it is what you make of it. Everybody from my dad to the jumper/downhillers loves it. So many line to choose from depending on your skill and courage!
  8. Do you still have your tonsils? Buddy of mine always struggled, being sick way to often, had it removed and hasn't been sick since
  9. +1 Mongoose stopped making Carbon bikes because their Alloy frames are so light
  10. Yip does anyone know who got the team of the day award? Cause I think it might be the 'Dale guys unlike the Spez guys as always
  11. No don't think he will. Switzerland has 3 spots, Schurter got the first spot. 2nd and 3rd is a fight between Vogel, Giger, Fluckiger x 2, Gujan. Ralph Naef and Sauser has a long shot, really hope Naef gets in as he had to give his previous Olympic spot to Schurter. Its tough to be a Swiss mountainbiker
  12. They said on RedbullTV after Burry's 1st practice lap earlier, he asked to have his single front blade to be replaced by a normal 2x10 setup as in the pic because of the hectic climbs on the course!
  13. I ride with these, they just don't die, a 2007 and 2011 model, FOX DIRTPAW
  14. I can never get tired looking at this bike
  15. I had about R18k, also went Alloy, Giant XTC 0 29er. 2012 XT is awesome. Nothing wrong with a alloy frame. I've upgraded my wheels since to ZTR Crest + Hope Pro 2Evo, light strong wheels are more important than a Carbon frame IMHO.
  16. It's worth a try converting it. I had Schwalbe Racing Ralph Evo TLR on, no problems regarding burping, sidewalls just crap. If you should replace them then go for the "Snake SKin" version. I've once had Conti Mountain King Foldable on, later on the Stans couldn't even seal the sidewalls. I'm a BIG fan of Maxxis, it is very strong tyres IMHO, heck I even ride a normal Aspen Foldable at the back. The Ikon Exception Exo Protection is a great weight/strength combo. The thing is you can't ride them to soft = if you are going over a root or a rock it should not knock through to the rim. You won't have problems of them burping then. Maxxis Lust = Bulletproof My brother had just put on Continental Race King Protection, Seems very nice, same tipe of sidewall as Maxxis Exo Protection. Will see you they keep up
  17. If its raining or you don't have that much time for cycling (trail)running is a great substitute. I saw a video on youtube of Kevin Evans the other day, he runs 10km a day, after he has done his 6hours on the bike. In my personal experience running before breakfast and mountainbiking in the afternoon is great. It surely helps with fitness and weightloss.
  18. Thats too far out. Ratio should be +- 1:1,5 granny to bigblade Play here http://www.gear-calculator.com/
  19. Geco Cycles at Cape Gate will be open, just heard from Russell - speak to him
  20. i'm 1,84, riding a 20", an 21" will be too big I think, setup is NB, but if you are maxing your seatpost, you might have to look into getting a 20" frame, if you decide to do so, measure your seattube and toptube length, it differs from brand to brand, and see what suits you best
  21. Maxxis Lust is bulletproof, Monorail front and Crossmark at the back
  22. yes please show some pics!
  23. There should be no problem or reason why you can't put aa 22t Granny on, Sram is running 22/33/44 and Shimano 24/32/42. You won't struggle with your configuration like the okes on there 2x10 does, I would say just put a 22t on, it's your bike! Enjoy it!
  24. Very happy in Stellenbosch!
