  1. He-eh. This needs to remain for reference till the end of time.
  2. It is not about hype. It is about the ability to set it up for your bodyweight. Unless you change the spring/coil there is nothing you can do.
  3. Good question. You'll get good enough new for half that.
  4. My son could not shift up with the RevoShift at all, even with new Jagwire cables and sleeves fitted. With the trigger shift he is very happy. I said I fitted a Shimano trigger shifter before, I meant a Sunrace.
  5. Same here. I replaced my son's RevoShift with a R120 Shimano trigger shifter and he is over the moon. I cleaned, lubed, replaced the sleeve and cable but nothing made that grip shifter easy to use for my sons small hands. Just for clarity I am referring to a Shimano 7Spd RevoShift.
  6. Thanks. Any idea what such a headset is going to set me back, ballpark figure? The cost of the tiny piece of metal for the replacement derailleur hanger that I had to order made my eyes water. I have a Reba Team at the moment but it is a straight steerer.
  7. I have a 2008 Cannondale Rush 26 and want to try a mullet setup but straight steerer air spring forks for anything but 26" is almost impossible to find. The manual states it can take Headshok Integration System Headset or OnePointFive 1.5 (38.1mm) headsets. Can anyone give me an indication if I will be able to run a tapered steered with the proper headset and if so what exactly I need in order to do this. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
  8. What he meant was that the problem is usually the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.
  9. You mean like the absolutely horrendous Shimano Revoshift?
  10. It was an interesting day. I started behind a very talll gentleman and di not get an opportunity to pass early on. I ended up behind behind him to the right and missed the first turn-off and followed him for a short distance and then passed when it was safe. After a short distance I got to a water crossing and was assured I was on the correct route. When I got to the finish line after around 9km I knew something was up ???? I passed the finish line on the right and restarted the route. Now around 35 minutes behind/later I was putting foot to catchup. I went down on the last turn of Tant Miems and snapped my derailleur hanger. I turned it into a duathlon and did 22.5km of MTB and 11km of bike-hiking in 3 hours.
  11. Well she is prepped and ready for race day.
  12. Thanks. 100% just for fun for myself. I have no intention of racing competitively.
  13. This weekend will be my first race. I am doing the half-marathon though and I will be taking a 2L hydration bladder. I have a tendency to lose water bottles along the trail on a normal day. How technical is technical? Are we talking Iron Throne or Hennops? I don't even know what a GPX file is. I thought we were talking about the Shimano cranks again...
  14. Humour was intended. I always have some Q20 at hand.
  15. Hell yeah! Works amazing for removing grease from all kinds of places where you would like grease to remain.
  16. That worked perfectly. Turning it with the Allen key got it unstuck and now it works perfectly. The Elixr lever now works incredibly well after I bled it 50 times. The Juicy lever not so much. I suspect it might be past the point of being serviced. I struggled to bleed it properly and now it works exactly as it did before the bleed. The first bit of pull does nothing and also has virtually no resistance. After that it feels a little woody but brakes well enough. If I can get my hands on another Elixr R lever that would be perfect.
  17. There is a Rockshox SID on here going for a good price if you don't mind 2nd hand.
  18. Free with a 250ml bottle as well.
  19. I currently have Avid Juicy Seven brake calipers with one Juicy Seven lever and one Elixr R lever. The brakes, caliper side, seems to work pretty good. Has lot's of bite and especially the Elixr lever has great modulation. The problem is the reach adjustment does not seem to work. The Juicy lever's adjustment does not seem to do much and the Elixr adjustment wheel is impossible to turn. I have looked around for new brakes but the prices make my eyes water. One exception is the Shimano MT200. I understand they are entry level but how will they compare to my 150 year old Avid brakes in terms of power? I like riding challenging trails and don't do long distance flat gravel roads. Will this be too much for the MT200 brakes?
  20. One more for Enduro Seal. I have even used it in tubes on my wife's bike with amazing results.
  21. As for the gears, Alivio and Acera are decent if you are not doing hardcore riding. Avoid Tourney if you can. Suntour XCR can be found in both coil and air spring models. This is their entry level air fork. Get an air model if you can. XCT and XCM models are coil forks.
  22. Agreed. From the pricing on the site I doubt that malice was intended. This thread however clearly indicates that it does upset some buyers. The fineprint/terms however cater specifically for these type of scenarios(mistakes).
  23. This really is a non issue. They never claimed that their retail price is the MSRP. The may very well sell below MSRP consistently.
  24. They are all decent but they are not all equal. In terms of the RockShox the Judy Silver has steel stanchions and the Judy Gold has aluminium stanchions so will be quite a bit lighter. The Judy range is lower end and the Silver is the entry level air model. The Gold is a mid range fork. They are both air shocks so should perform well but they are not in the same league as the SID SL Select. The SID is a XC race fork. As for the Manitou forks the Machete has thicker stanchions so should be stiffer than the Markhor. It is a little heavier though because of this. I don't know more about this I am afraid.
  25. I saw shims at Decathlon as well. Cannot recall the price.
